Televising the trial does nothing for justice. I didn't watch any of it so I have no opinion on the outcome, but if Dick and Jane wouldn't have had their trial televised then neither should celebrities.

From different articles, not the garb one in OP, it seems like most of the staffing shortages are from retirement/officers quitting. Now if they're in a hiring freeze due to the budget I can see how an argument can be made against "defund the police" (counter argument is a better allocation of resources).

Edit: it is true Seattle reduced the police budget. I'm all for critiquing the police but facts are important.

Reading Terminal market for lunch, there are a ton of places to choose from in there all kinds of food. At night really anywhere the food here is pretty good (china town is very close to center city). If you're gonna do a cheesesteak go with pretty much any Italian place. As for why people call it a shithole, there's a lot of gun violence but for the most parts it's only really pockets of the city. If you're in center city and not out and about really late you'll be fine, just don't engage with anyone (if someone asks you for money or borrow your phone or whatever just ignore them and keep walking). And if anyone tells you to go to kensington they're trolling you just ignore them.

Eh, I wouldn't encourage cops to kneel, it's turned out bad in the past.

Never voted republican, more than likely never will, but dems need a better strategy going forward than "Vote for us we're not as bad as them!" There haven't been really any major legislative wins in the past 2 years. Yeah they got part of the infrastructure bill passed, but that isn't a big enough and quick enough change to make people feel like the Dems are actually doing something.
