I also am personally glad that a lot of people are saying they agree with what I say or my read only after I myself state it to parrot it and never before I state it. If you felt this way, did you mention this beforehand? If not, why not? Were you planning to hold this in your backpocket? Why as town?

I didn't like what Shonen's post said and responded to it myself a couple minutes after he posted it to clarify. I also agreed again when Sheep said he didn't like that post either, which happened earlier this morning.

What concerns me is Shonen saying "Corrik is going to be Corrik". I do not the person has even played with me before. Also, the response to saying to claim seemed coached or informed. I'd venture Shonen is scum too.

I didn't like the response either but on the flip side, wouldn't a good coach advise Shonen not to respond to that at all? There was no reason for him to say anything.

Oh I meant to ask this at the beginning of day 1 but forgot. Does anyone use pronouns other than he/him? Just to make sure I'm not making any mistakes referring to anyone as a default "he"

agreed. to me, it felt more like a clash of egos than a real scum v town scenario

Clarification: i dont buy it as in i dont agree with him. I do think hes acting in good faith according to what he actually thinks though

I also think tidus is town but I dont really buy his argument for voting Chris.

I also want to hear more from Shonen Bat and Muyo on their thoughts on anything thats happened so far.

No, It has happened at least once before. Though I hate doing it because it's a lot easier and more accurate to just point out who is town day 1.

i say this more to push back against this form of metagaming. the implication being that tidus calling out a scum team is day 1 is "too bold" because he's a new player whereas you can do it without anyone looking twice because you're a more established/experienced player.

if anything, he's just attempting to copy what he's seen other players do. for what it's worth I wouldn't put too much stock in what players he thinks are scum at this point of the game, but I don't think his act itself of calling out a scum team is particularly meaningful in itself

This really makes me wonder if there's a Chris + Red + Tidus scum team. Because I don't see where Chris is protecting Red.

Its not too unbeilivable, as Tidus was an extremely heavy busser of everyone on his team except Crescent, who he took the opposite approach on and never mentioned once as suspect.

Just seems very bold of him to be pointing out an entire scum team this early.

Fair enough on not having a particular read on Death, my initial take definitely was based on prior experience so it can't be expected. What are your thoughts on the subsequent votes from Han and Corrik?

I've played a game with both of them before. From my experience, I've learned not to take any of Corrik's Day 1 actions seriously. As for Han, he likes to push people's buttons early and try to make them uncomfortable to test their reactions. Both of them were town that game, and nothing they've done or said this game feels out of line from what I would expect from them as town. That being said, I've never seen them play scum before, so maybe they play the same way

This is my 3rd game of forum mafia, but I've played a couple hundred games of other deception games like Town of Salem and Among Us and in-person board games like Werewolf. The biggest difference/adjustment of course being the pacing, where a game of each of those last ~30 minutes compared to the slower burn of a forum mafia game lasting 1-2 weeks.

As for the Death stuff, I'm not really inclined to believe any weak scumtell this soon into Day 1. I don't think that you're acting in bad faith in this post either though.

that's honestly pretty impressive and i'm (just a bit) envious. if there are genuine, real emotional stakes at hand (in real life) I'm pretty much incapable of lying. poker or other deception style games I'd like to think I can get by with lying, though, depending on the magnitude.

I took the 50/50 on Yae, got C1 Keqing instead (plus two fischl's and a diona). Keqing is my primary carry right now though, so it's not all bad, although her constellations barely provide anything. Would've preferred my first copy of Mona or Jean though.

Not sure if either Philly or Brooklyn is the favorite to make it out of the east though, but that's less on their part and more the fact that the east just looks so much deeper now. Would it be a crazy take to say the East is just better than the west as a conference now?

no you're correct, morey demanded more. i'm just saying i personally think it's a huge mistake to send away so many assets for harden at this point of his career. and the playoffs will vindicate me

I'd argue that's a bit misleading of a way to look at it because a declining James Harden wasn't the only trade option that Philly had. It was reported for months that a deal like McCollum + first round pick for Simmons existed. So it's really more along the lines of asking whether the difference between 2022 Harden and 2022 McCollum is worth giving up 3 first round picks, Seth Curry, and Drummond. I'd say absolutely not, but I'm also not going to pretend that I'm not biased against James Harden. But we'll see!

He IS a husk of his former self. When you share the floor with a superstar like Kevin Durant your field goal attempts will naturally go down, but your efficiency should go up, because you're getting space to take better shots (and probably aren't even being guarded by the best defender on the other team anymore). The opposite has happened to Harden, he's shooting worse than ever on better quality shots. That's a terrible sign. Kyrie last year, for example, had his PPG and efficiency both increase compared to his time in Boston.

Harden's gonna be making $47 million next year while providing maybe a third of that in value, at best. It gimps roster construction and the trade itself loses key assets for the 76ers roster over the next year. I'm extremely confident in saying that they won't even make it as far as last year's team (7th game of the 2nd round) for as long as Harden is being paid a max contract

Harden's averaging 10 points less than his last 3 years in Houston on the worst shooting splits since his rookie year. he's washed.

gigantic win for the nets. harden is completely washed. i'm still high on simmons, especially when he can just play the bruce brown dunker role on offense and transform the nets defense into something respectable.

looking at the leak's of yae miko's kit she actually looks really fun (although i'd be running her as sub-dps) but i must not stray from saving for raiden shogun. maybe i can pick up yae miko in 6 or 8 months from now on a rerun. i assume she'll be really popular and likely get a rerun a bit earlier than some of the other 5 stars?

Can't wait for this Raiden rerun to support my Eula <3. Only like 3.5 weeks to go

Cyndaquil. Only played through the first few tutorial segments last night. Hopefully can get to more substantial content today

finally pulled a crit rate hat/mask for Eula, even though it's got trash sub-stats it's a start.

I downloaded it last night and copied a basic toon deck (with no extra deck whatsoever), and I'm like 10-5 in ranked and made it to silver rank already. And those 5 games I straight up surrendered because they pulled off some ridiculous combo I don't understand to summon like 5 monsters turn 1.

Trying to netdeck a more competitive version of a toon deck with an actual extra deck but it looks like i'll need to get a lot more crafting materials to make the necessary super/ultra rares. Definitely having fun for now though!
