I wouldn't say that comparison is particularly apt. IM3 displeased people who wanted more Iron Man and less Tony Stark (I was initially one of these people), but it never got such a disgusting outcry that it made Disney reel back and cower underneath their diamond encrusted rocks.

It'd be cool if they made a real X-Force movie to introduce both Deadpool and Wolverine to the MCU at once, along with Psylocke and some new faces like Fantomex.

So long as Shadowcat has a prominent role I'm all for a Colossus movie. I don't think any of the X-Men should get a movie all to themselves though.

All amazing characters in their own right. A perfect support group for Bruce. Including Alfred, Batman would be nothing without him.

I could see it working out really well. Especially if the music is only in Joker and Harley's head, like that one episode of Scrubs.

If you can, try going into the re-watch of Iron Man 3 with a new perspective. I didn't like the movie the first time either, but years later when I did my MCU marathon I was determined to only view positives for every movie and ignore anything I didn't like or agree with. Made IM3 way way better and now it's actually one of my favorites. RDJ's performance as Tony really shines through the most here. It also features possibly the best heroic scene in any superhero movie (the plane save).

Nothing can save Thor 2 though. There's a few positives, it's just overall boring and that's worse than being bad.

It's something I dream about frequently, but it's difficult to believe it will someday truly happen. I'm dying to play mgs3 again as well

Not quite, Fallen Order is single player. Squadrons is multiplayer with a single player campaign taped on. Otherwise you might as well also argue for Battlefront 2.

Yeah game devs really need to wait til they have a substantial amount of a game developed before any sort of announcement is made.

This is highly disappointing, hopefully they still get back to it. Either way I've come to terms with the Star Wars license being cursed at this point.

Apparently it's too much to ask for a good polished Star Wars game, and it's all I've really wanted for many years now. Fallen Order was close but god damn it was buggy and still suffers being under the EA banner.

Warriors games generally hit that power trip need for me, it helps that it's pretty mindless action most of the time too. Although I would pretty much exclusively recommend the Nintendo made ones.

The only non-Nintendo musou I've played and enjoyed was One Piece.

No worries, I gathered it would be similar to my experience with Stormlight Archive. First book was a chore the first time through (loved it way more on a reread), then the second book was supreme quality from start to finish.

So I'm prepared for the initial slog of the first book, I'll be focusing most of my reading energy on pushing through.

I only read the most recent chapters and while entertaining, yeah it is pretty much just another action shonen at this point.

Oh I am, forcing myself through at least one chapter a day. Might watch the show soon as well to help me get into the story.

Also reading the First Law, seemed to be a match when I started it a few days ago.

I like colors, so anime. Also why I prefer western comics over manga. Although I still enjoy the latter, the lack of color allows them to go all out with details in an action scene.

But I also prefer dubbed anime so I can't be a true weeb.

This world has gone to shit

So I've given most of these a shot by now, but it takes more than one chapter (many more) to get me invested in anything. I have a general dislike for the beginning of any story, I prefer the meat in the middle.

That said, I have refined my requirements for a new book:

• Fantasy world (or at least heavy fantastical elements)
• Third person (I despise first person narratives)
• Hard magic system (i.e. magic with defined rules and explanations)
• Good action scenes (gotta have a healthy dose of violence to get me through)
• And the aforementioned good worldbuilding and characters (I enjoy multiple viewpoints as well)

Some of the recommended titles probably hit these requirements already, and I will certainly continue trying to read the ones that seem on point. Wasn't determined before if I needed a fantasy type world or not, but some of these are set in our universe and it just doesn't appeal to me, I'm unsure why.

There's me thoughts. If there are books that you think better fit my criteria please do tell me a little about it. Otherwise I will just work my way through the ones that already seem to be a match. Regardless I appreciate all of you

But yes it is wonderful, Gohan needs to shine more. He's the best DB character easy. Though I wish he'd permanently lose the glasses.

First option is tempting, but I've always been interested in the world's secrets. And all that common knowledge is accessible through the internet. Sure I can't retain all of it, and it frequently requires me to google stuff, but the information is still there.

I can't get well guarded secrets in the palm of my hand though, and I would like to see for myself what the world governments are hiding. Even if I never apply the information in some way, I just wanna know.

Yeah it's not something I advertise but I have mentioned it a few times, and I figured my love for Cassandra Cain was documented enough for some people to connect the dots.

Shadowhalo17 was my main for many years. Had a bunch of alts, can't remember any of them as they were mostly one and done gimmicks.

Except for this one, it was just the alt that stuck around and I primarily used it for lurking purposes a while after I deleted my main.

Oh I need to bump this, I'm gradually giving each of these titles a shot, reading the beginning of each. I'll jot down some thoughts later.

For the past several years I have been exclusively invested in Sanderson's cosmere. Read through Stormlight Archive two or three times now, and I just finished my reread of the entire Mistborn saga (super hype for the Lost Metal releasing in two months). However, now I'm at a loss since there's no more cosmere works that I need to read through again, so I need something brand new.

Tried getting into Wheel of Time on a few occasions and it just has yet to click with me, I generally have trouble getting into new stories regardless of medium. So I'll probably try again, but I'd also like to know what else is out there.

My main requirements are multiple well fleshed out characters, and satisfactory worldbuilding.

And pleeease include a small summary of some sort for your suggestion, a list of titles does me no good!

This is a general problem with shonen anime, it's what leads to all the filler arcs as well. It's always bugged me and largely why I fell out of the anime scene, but One Piece at least doesn't face that problem too bad until after Enies Lobby. The journey up to that point is incredible, then it tapers off.

That would be cool if they brought him back to reveal he was a Skrull the entire time.

I've never seen the show though so not sure if it would fit.

Disney star wars was built on pandering. Baby Yoda is an even more blatant example, they know how to make cute characters for people to get attached to and it worked like a charm.

To answer the topic: Yes. I even prefer BB-8 over Grogu.

However I think it would have been better if they just used R2 again as the main droid. He's already plenty cute and adored by all.

Unlike comics, they can't keep the same aging actors around for the same character forever on end. So they have to rely on legacy characters to keep it going. I wouldn't say it's to appeal to younger audiences, it's just the natural progression of things. Unless they wanted to outright recast those big roles, which they feel would be the wrong way to go for obvious reasons.

Abrams didn't need to make her identity important though. It wasn't possible to give a satisfying answer about her lineage. She's a Skywalker? Oh, everyone saw that coming. She's a Kenobi? Oh, everyone wanted that except it would require tainting Obi-Wan's character in some way. Palpatine? Well it's all we have left and it doesn't make sense but it's okay because Sith shenanigans.

Her being no one or related to some other lesser known Jedi from the past were the only decent solutions. The latter would have been hollow, so making her a nobody at least presented the stronger message that anyone can have power. And if it wasn't Rian, it would have been a different director taking the blame for it. It was a cursed position to be in.

My problem with that take is the blame for Rian when it wasn't his fault at all. Abrams had no idea where the story was supposed to go after TFA, he just set things up since he knew it wouldn't be up to him to find the answers to those plot threads. So it doesn't matter which director took over afterward, it would have been a mess regardless since Disney themselves didn't think it was important to plan ahead. I just don't like when one person gets blamed for something when they were in a complicated position to begin with.

But we probably don't need to continue discussing this for the thousandth time.

She was at least more present than in the first film where I barely noticed her existence. She was of some prominence in MoM.
