There was a Saturday Night Live sketch about the trial at the weekend. I haven't seen it, but I did laugh at the mental image of one of the jurors relaxing at home after a long week observing the trial. Having obeyed the rules to avoid all trial coverage, they turn on the TV to watch Saturday Night Live, their favourite TV show, then the Depp VS Heard sketch starts and they yell "Oh come on!"

I hope the Brute gets a Master Blaster costume, because Master Blaster rules.

With Scarlet and Violet coming up, Sword and Shield's time as the main Pokemon games is coming to an end, and there's little reason to keep shilling Leon as the undefeated unbeatable champion when his game is no longer the most current one, so there is a possibility he loses here. Serena recently came back briefly too, and I think that's the sort of thing that wouldn't happen unless Ash's time as the main protagonist is coming to an end.

This isn't going to happen, but it would be funny if Leon was disqualified for not showing up to the stadium, because he has no sense of direction and goes to a different region from where the tournament is being held.

I'll have to get around to buying the remaining Curtain Call DLC. I checked last week, and I have about half the songs left to buy. I wonder if it will still be available to buy after the E-shop shutdown, since it's accessed via an ingame store, rather than Nintendo's own E-shop? Of course, I'm not going to take that risk.

That's an Ace Attorney level contradiction right there! I can just imagine Phoenix Wright presenting this photo as evidence for an Objection! when the witness testimony talks about when the incident took place.

Do you think the week hiatus in the trial will help or hinder either side?

Maybe I'm being pessimistic here, but although I do think Amber Heard's career will be hurt by this, I'm not so sure that she's finished. The court of public opinion is currently leaning towards Johnny's side, but the important, influential people - the media, campaigners, Hollywood - are still mostly on Amber's side, at least from what I've seen. Hollywood in particular can't exactly blacklist a woman in the post Me Too era, even if she has done wrong. I reckon Amber will stay out of the limelight for a couple of years while the heat from this dies down, then after that she will quietly return in small supporting roles. Regardless, she won't be headlining any big movies again any time soon.

While I'm here, I'll also join everyone in saying thank you to Biscuit for the in-depth breakdowns. They're much appreciated!

I've been thinking about this myself lately. I can count how many friends I have left on one hand, and I always have to initiate conversation. When I do, I rarely hear back from them, and replies are getting fewer and further between. I haven't seen any of them in person for over a year, and by now, I doubt I ever will again. I have no way of making any new friends either. Besides, it's not worth it since I have nothing of interest to say or do anyway. If I did, my friends would still want to talk to me.

If we take Asura's Wrath DLC into account, Akuma is capable of fighting Asura to a draw. I don't think DK could beat Asura in a fight, so based on that, I say Akuma has the advantage here.

What? It's a major plot point- "we were closer than brothers", they cut each other's hands and make a blood pact not to hurt each other and turn it into a spell and put it in a jewel and it's the reason Dumbledore has to stay in the shadows and can't move against him directly and the little sausage monster steals the jewel in Paris and the whole bus clapped.

Oops, I must have been pretty dumb to not notice this! In retrospect, maybe I didn't count it because it isn't explicitly stated that they were a couple and you could interpret it as them being best friends, even if a romantic relationship is the intended and more logical interpretation given the closeness.

The first one exceeded my low expectations. The second was every bit as bad as I expected the first to be, and then some. What I remember about it, without looking anything up:
1. There was this lady who switched babies on a boat because her baby was crying, and there was this big mystery about her, but she died at the end so the whole thing felt like a shaggy dog story.
2.Grindelwald wants to take over muggles because if he doesn't, the holocaust happens.
3.Credence came back even though in the first one he turned into a giant monster with a handy-dandy dose of magic G-Virus and then exploded. I don't remember if his survival was explained, or if it was a case of "Somehow Credence returned". Oh, and he's Dumbledore's previously-unknown, secretly evil twin brother.

Because of that, I'm not interested in watching the third film. That said, I will give it some credit for finally making Gay Dumbledore explicit and factoring it into the plot, as opposed to treating it as a piece of easily ignored post-books trivia. When it didn't come up in the second film, I thought for sure it had been retconned away, so I'm happy to have been proven wrong.

I'm surprised that Hades is considered a big enough deal to hint at in the announcement trailer. Between this and the Fairy Godmother at the end of Melody of Memory, I quite like the trend of secondary Disney characters showing up to interact with the main plot in some way.

I do wonder what if anything will be done with James Woods. I thought he sounded in KH3 like he was starting to struggle with doing the voice, and there's politics stuff with him too. If I were Disney, I'd start training up an understudy.

I enjoyed this a lot too! Do you have any ideas for which series you will be covering next?

Gen 8's pre-release period put me off the series, but I later went back to play Shield (base game only, I didn't buy the DLC) solely because it was bundled with the used Switch I bought on Ebay. So far, I don't intend on playing Scarlet and Violet.

Jaden and Jesse - Yugioh GX

These two are best friends when Jesse is introduced, and Jaden becomes obsessed with Jesse, putting him ahead of all his other friends. Their respective ace monsters fuse a couple of times. There's even an episode in Season 4 where Alexis tries to work up to courage to tell Jaden how she feels about him, but she changes her mind at the last moment because she realises Jaden doesn't feel the same way about her.

I did some practice battles to test my connection. The first one was fine, the second started fine then lagged halfway through, the third was really laggy throughout, and the fourth had a little bit of lag, not a lot but enough to notice it. Because of that, I'm afraid I'll have to drop out this time because I don't want to cause problems for the other players. I hope everyone enjoys themselves, and I'll see if I can join in next time!

I'm currently playing Great Ace Attorney and I wondered if Herlock Sholmes would be eligible for a contest. Based on the localisation, he would be because he's a distinct character from Sherlock Holmes. However, he might not be eligible based on the original Japanese version, where he is Sherlock Holmes, as Sherlock Holmes didn't originate as a video game character.

An exception was made for Geralt in the last character battle, so would the same thing happen for Sholmes if he got enough nominations to make the bracket? Then again, Phoenix is the only Ace Attorney character we've seen who has any contest strength, so Sholmes probably wouldn't make it past Round 1 anyway.

I'm afraid I won't be able to compete this time because I have to get up early the next day to travel, but I hope everyone has fun!

Is the stream for the last tourney available to watch somewhere? I tried watching live, but my signal wasn't strong enough.

I won a duel the other day I don't think I should have. I had Salamangreat Violet Chimera and one other monster on the field, whereas my opponent was playing Dragonmaids. I had the life lead because of a big direct attack early on, but my opponent had the advantage otherwise, with four monsters on the field, all of which had higher ATK than Violet Chimera, and Dragonmaid Welcome was also active boosting them further.

On my opponent's turn, the strongest monster attacked Violet Chimera. That's when I learned Chimera's effect of doubling its ATK in battle against a monster whose ATK has been changed also works when it's attacked. The dragon used it's negate effect on me, so I banished a Balelynx from my GY to save VC, and after using its effect, the dragon returned to the Extra Deck, with another House Dragonmaid tagging in. The new Dragonmaid attacked, and VC's ability activated again. This time, it wasn't negated, and the Dragonmaid KOd herself. The weird part is that, after seeing this, my opponent kept attacking VC with all of their other monsters, with the same result every time, resulting in me winning. I'm surprised they didn't attack my other monster instead, or try and get VC or Dragonmaid Welcome off the field another way.

I made a Salamangreat deck and got to Silver rank without much trouble. I haven't done any card crafting yet, so I'll take a look at that next before I try to go further. I've got one copy of Balelynx and two copies of Heatleo, so I'll want to craft those up to three if I can.

I was amused by the first duel I tried with this deck, as I played the Salamangreat Sanctuary field spell as my first card, then my opponent immediately surrendered. They must have known what was coming and noped out. I had to actually play for the other wins.
