Jones is just trying to bail on the sinking ship, especially now that his (likely incriminating) phone records are being made available to the Jan 6 Committee.

Trump is screwed outside of another coup attempt working, and Jones is just smart enough to know that and is trying to ride the coattails of basically the closest thing to a more competent Trump.

This argument is really good for this issue:

https://youtu.be/cZ9YAFYIBOU

Tl;dr: sports are never fair. There are always some genetic component that contributes to an edge in competitions. Top basketball players aren't tall because they play basketball, but they play basketball because they are tall.

The same with women. There are cis women born with bodies that produce more testoterone, or just have more muscle growth that is genetic, and these usually give them competitive edge in physical sports so transwomen, while the science says they do still have an advantage over majority of cis women, shouldn't be treated differently than those who are born cis.

Aka this is all just excuse to persecute trans ppl

I don't really like this argument. Suggesting that sports are just inherently unfair gives the impression that trans women in sports are just genetically better off, when there's very limited evidence to suggest that, especially with the amount of HRT that's required often for trans athletes to actually compete (things like NCAA and the Olympics have had HRT requirements for decades)

Using the argument "Sports are inherently unfair" just gives a lot of weight to transphobic arguments that haven't done nearly enough work to earn that. Not to mention it leads to things like "well then why do we bother with women's sports at all?"

The section of HRT is... weird. 2 of the 3 studies are based on trans men vs. trans women, When the actual debate is about trans women vs. cis women or trans men vs cis men. And the only study shared that even comes close comes with the caveat of "this isn't actually how we measure athletic performance". It certainly doesn't do a particularly good job of saying trans women are just empirically better equipped for sports against cis women, which is how they just start the next section assuming.

technically the Predator was from 2018.

Though while it definitely has issues, I think it was a fun "turn your brain off and forget about it by the time you've left the theatre" movie. It was very clearly a movie that wasn't trying to be something like, important or anything and very much felt like it was from like the 90s when their awkward view of mental health and similar things would've been more acceptable.

I thought she killer herself because she was sad that Homelander didn't embrace her nazi master race nonsense and didn't want to live anymore in a world that didn't have racial purity.

I thought Homelander was using her relationship just as an excuse to stay sane, because he kinda knows he shouldn't go full nazi, but his whole life is kind of falling apart here, and because Stormfront is basically a vegetable at that point, she can't advocate and push him over the edge more. But instead of being able to push Homelander over the edge, he's using her to keep him from doing so, which is why she killed herself.

I thought Homelander was basically using her as a Teddy Bear and Storefront was like "lol no, you go be a damn nazi"

I mean, he isn't clearly a psycho, because its kind of just like the people who support general "anti-SJW" stuff - yeah they're assholes and shit people, but they "say it like it is" and stuff like that. If anything I think its part of how The Boys' satire can be a little too on the nose. And its also an avenue for the show to explain why MM doesn't like the supes and whatnot.

I think its a little early to call him the worst president ever made, as we are still pretty recent, and some of his most damaging moves could take a long time to appear (like Ronald Reagan's mass deregulations being a big contributor for the 2008 financial collapse).

Does anyone actually blame D&D? Hell I dont understand expecting anything from grrm either. Have you read the books? From the moment he had that s***ty catspaw reveal I knew that this dude couldn't wrap storyline. Oh he could certainly set them up, but then again anyone can set up intriguing plots and mysteries, just look at jj Abrams and lost. It's about delivering on those mysteries and he sure as s*** didn't with what he did attempt to resolve, so forget him ending the actual main plot lines.

The last seasons which were very much bad because D&D didn't want to keep doing the show, so they definitely deserve some of the blame. Especially because the main issue with the ending wasn't really what happened at the end, but rather how it ended. If you told someone at like season 4 how the series ended, they'd probably be like "yeah I can see that", but Seasons 7/8 didn't really do a lot of the work that was required to get to that ending point.

But there's also not a chance anyone would have really been able to wrap up some of these things well, and the books have even more random loose ends and **** that would need to be tied up.

I'm of the opinion there just wasn't a good way to wrap up the Night King and Coming Winter stuff.

second, how did this same guy have any trouble during the awesome Herogasm fight or even the end fight scene?

I had the exact opposite idea. The idea I got from the first two seasons was Homelander just had OP powers and as a result didn't really need to know how to fight or anything like that. Instead he was just a bully that would crumble the second someone actually fought back - hence why he has any reason to actually care about The Boys and why he was terrified of Soldier Boy for like 1/2 the season.

But then he's just like, beating everyone without a ton of trouble in the last episodes and I don't know if he should've been.

Given Black Noir is one of the most important parts of the comic-ending, I doubt he's staying dead. Though the comic ending was really dumb and I hope they go elsewhere with it.

I think they did lean a bit too much into the whole season being about Homelander's complete mental collapse, and the relationship between Butcher and Hughie. Those are the main points for sure, but it did leave some other stuff underdeveloped.

My guess is they had a real ending in mind (probably season 4 or maybe 5) and much of this season was basically just to get everything into position to start it
