I've never played a Souls game before but is full caster a reasonable option, at least for a beginner. It feels like I burn through my FP super fast.

in previous games yes, but i'm not even past the first story boss yet in ER so i can't say for this game. so far, magic has made mobs trivial but isn't OP at all against bosses.

have you tried reallocating your flasks so you have more cyan flasks? or try pumping your "MIND" stat (p sure that increases FP).

Souls games typically have ways to access late-game equipment early, but that requires going to places you "shouldn't be".

typically, magic builds tend to be easier than melee since you can keep your distance.

why? testing "positive" does not mean you're high whatsoever. you can smoke a bowl and fail a drug test 2-3 days later. how does it make any sense to care what someone did days ago?
