I know it's become a meme that every big new release is going to rejuvenate his channel, but I think he was really hoping that Elden Ring would drum up the kind of excitement other FromSoftware used to generate. Instead, while it's preformed better than anything else he's played lately, it still hasn't brought in huge money, and this has left him salty. Probably doesn't help that he's being handheld through the entire thing while also being overleveled. He's demanding to be paid $150 a stream to play the game in the least entertaining manner possible.

This game was supposed to save Phil. But rather than actually play the game, he holds pre-streams for 90 minutes, plays the game a bit and moves on. He never capitalizes on anything.

It's always a bit weird when he reveals information like that. I assume he meant to show how humid it is in his house or how busy he is (ie: he'll need to clean that mold). Either way, poor DSP. Instead, as with many of his stories, it makes him look stupid and lazy. Almost every story he tells about his life outside of the stream unintentionally portrays him as a guy who is barely capable of functioning as an adult.

I mean I get why HE does it. Everything is to show us how hard his life is, but when he discloses information like this it doesn't make his life look hard.

It makes him look like a complete tool.

He is still bad at games, but he is just boring to watch. He just never lets himself go in fear of saying something that might get him banned.

The most interesting bits is when he has a meltdown or goes on a tirade. But in terms of gameplay and rage, it's nothing like the old classics.

Phil admitted that it's "ridiculous" that he needs to make the 150 dollar tips goal each stream and that hitting the 100 dollar one is fine.

Which means that every time he hits the 150 one it is fine the next time he makes only 50 dollars on a stream.

Phil wants a 15% growth in memberships, 50 members, to hit the goal for the month.

Ridiculous. For a normal person in his position I'd say 25 members would be a reasonable, if high end goal. Of course membership/sub goals seem like a douchy thing in the first place. Asking for 50 members, on the shortest month of the year, in his situation with him being DarksydePhil is just... greed is massively strong. The goal is a viewer's choice event, so he's telling all his ardent fanbase that he will withhold interaction with them if he doesn't manage to entice new viewers. Scummy as shit.

Also he, as he has done since the start of January, complained that youtube hasn't instituted changes they promised (or talked about, can't remember if they actually promised them) would come sometime in the year. Since like the second week of January he has been complaining that youtube haven't talked about stuff like gifted subs yet. His entitlement is insane.

The problem with the membership goal in a nutshell: Phil averages 250 viewers per stream, yet he wants 350 members.

The math just doesn't add up.

I know I've mentioned this point several times, but it always irritates me that he can't understand why games don't do as well on the night stream. He said that Pokemon did well the first couple day streams, then got far less support the first night stream, and he doesn't know why.

Less time streaming + fewer viewers = less money. It's not remotely difficult to understand.

Because he can't see beyond himself. If he is having fun, to him that means everyone else should be too.

He wants people to give him money, which in and of itself isn't the worst thing ever. We currently have a whole generation doing that making "content".

The thing is that Phil offers not only no incentive to give him money, the people that actually give him money get insulted, mistreated, guilt-tripped and ridiculed by Phil all the time. He shows no gratitude (saying thank you and being thankful are 2 completely seperate things), breaks promisses, shits on devs and what not.

Just open up ANY uploaded video of his on Youtube and you are rarely more than a minute away of him being angry at... well.... anything.

If it's not lag, it's dropped inputs. It's not what happened on hia screen, the devs are incompetent idiots, games are poorly balanced and the list goes on.

There is not a single redeeming factor about Phil that makes him worth watching, let alone give money.

Yet he expects it none the less.

As far as I know it is DSP, because his phone number was linked to the account, and that can only happen after verification.

So even IF someone tried to set Phil up, he'd still have to verify it himself.

I really don't understand how reacting to tv shows and movies is more lazy than commenting on video games you're playing.

I get that the legality of the two is viewed as different right now (though I'm honestly not sure that makes sense to me either), but in terms of what you're doing, unless you're a master player people are not watching your gameplay stream for showcases of talent, they're there to hear your commentary on the content of the game. How is that less lazy than your job being commenting on a video? I guess he burns a few more calories moving his thumbs across the gamepad than Pokemani does clicking the pause button to make a statement. But his insane, self-righteous indignation as if he isn't doing effectively the exact same thing, or near enough to be a marginal difference at best, is just crazy.
