One does not get into a mindset in a vacuum. If guns are so glorified in society then that is the society you will have. Whether or not it is possible to do harm otherwise is not relevant to that fact. Similarly a lack in support for parenting ends in the same way: you cannot say that any one thing is *the* defining factor for why society is the way that it is, but you can definitely point out culprits.

What of said society stigmatizing men talking about their feelings - boil that shit up, and it will come out all at once in often awful ways. I grew up in chicago, so will not disregard the gun problem.

All these years later we still have an issue with school shootings, and i still believe mental health care being a joke in america is the main culprit. They try to blame video games for this shit, but what's constant is the shooters are almost always sighted as having mental health issues left unchecked properly.
