I'm not a huge fan but I do like her music. I would recommend the entire Lemonade album, though. It was pretty damn good, imo. I think it was more introspective because it was dealing with her personal/relationship issues.

I'd say we can pretty easily tell it's insincere

A sincere apology would be "Shit, I fucked up. I'm sorry man." and maybe as he did apologizing to Rock's family.

But instead this was bullshit. He didn't even admit he did wrong, just "In retrospect I didn't react in the right way after being insulted." "I've spent 3 months working through all the complexities and emotions on my health journey after letting people down and let me know that letting people down is my trauma."

That's not how human beings talk. That's not even an apology, it's weird egotyiscal snakeoil salesman word salad rhetoric. He's still implying Rock did a bad thing and his actions were beyond simply being an idiot

This wasn't a deeply personal divorce. He jumped on stage and attacked a comedian because a joke hurt his feelings. It's not a complicated issue. You made an idiot of yourself.

"I was an idiot, I fucked up. I'm sorry Chris/Chris Family. I promise I'll do better and want to apologize in private if you'll let me."

That would be sincere. This felt like more like an advert for the Will Smith brand than anything else.
This isn't at all true. The sincerity comes from whether he means it, not necessarily what words he chooses. You don't know if he did or didn't. However, given his position having a well-thought out apology isn't a condemning move. It's actually smart and makes sense.

There's nothing wrong with apologizing for something you did wrong. And since the incident was so public and he's "Will Smith," an equally public apology is kind of necessary. Is it sincere? none of us will ever really know that but it doesn't matter since we weren't really the ones he offended. Chris is the only one who's opinion on this really matters.

He doesn't want to run again. Keeping folks hoping he will is all part of the grift. Trump has never actually wanted to be POTUS. He wanted to win but not actually do the job/have the responsibility. Now he gets to have the adulation and money from his followers without having to do any actual work. And he can blame it on the "corrupt system" that is against him, keeping the grift going for a long time.

This is a weird topic for a number of reasons.

First this isn't "toxic femininity," just because a woman is doing it. Attacking a person's manhood by using homophobic language is actually about toxic masculinity.

Second, where does the woman in question ever say she's an "ally?" Saying you don't a problem with gay people is NOT the same thing as allyship.

And who are these other supposed "allies" that say things like this? I doubt there's actually any and you're conflating 2 entirely different subjects.

It's not just my opinion (I actually think the backlash was a bit much.) It's a pretty general consensus among comic readers. The main complaint being the character assassination of certain heroes.

But that's irrelevant since my main point was about the films needing to adapt popular storylines to be good. They don't. The Dark Knight wasn't adapted from a specific story, for example. And the ones that do tend to stray away from the source (Infinity War.)

I mean

was the female Thor run in the comics even regarded moderately as any good? I don't think it was.

the thing is all the good Marvel movies took from award winning runs of their comics.

Civil War
Infinity War

so ya, no surprise that when the comic they use for the movie was a wet fart, the movie is too

can't wait for the movie where Jean makes Iceman gay using her mind powers....
Actually Jane as Thor is a pretty good run and sold as well as previous Thor comics.

Also, the comics version of Civil War wasn't very well-received and the films were nothing like either of those comics. How good a comic story is has never had any bearing on how good the film version is.

ngl, I'm disappointed with how Soldier Boy treated Homelander.

he was going on about how he was seen as a failure who didn't match his father's view, and how his whole background was basically fabrication.

then he talks about how much of a weakling Homelander is, even though the whole Soldier Boy tough guy thing is all propaganda.

I guess it was to create a rift between the characters, but it still rubbed me the wrong way.
You know one of the themes this season is how people turn into the same father's they hate. The difference is Butcher finally realized it and drew a line. Soldier Boy didn't.
