Lucas made Yarael Poof disappear in Episode II because he thought he might be confused as a Kaminoan.

So LEGO Skywalker Saga has a mission where Poof is on Kamino, and he gives you a mission of finding a missing Kaminoan. Turns out that Kaminoan is on Coruscant at the Jedi Temple pretending to be Poof! Funny stuff.

One thing I've seen too many Star Wars Purists focus on is what is essentially DBZ power levels for who would win lightsaber fights.

Bitch, it's a space fantasy. The winner is the one who the script says will win.

Imagine believing yourself an authority on the Force and what can and can't be done with it.

I will say writing can be a very good creative way to get your feelings out. Some of you folks who feel you know how Star Wars "should have" gone would probably do well to take pen to paper on this and write your fanfics.

Could get a lot out of your system if nothing else.

Better than bottling up these negative feelings for years.

Oh not remotely. New Jedi Order (the one with the Yuuzhan Vong) for one was a large media series that encompassed multiple authors.

But honestly they'd been doing trilogies of books by different authors for a long time.

The ones that held together were the ones done by one or two authors at most. Anything by Zahn, Stackpole, and Allston tended to hold up the best.

Regardless, I'm in the "it was too much of a mess" camp. No one seeking to watch Star Wars Episode VII would care one whit about the dozens of books that preceded it. No one's got that time.
