I don't get it, man. This shit isn't exactly rocket science. A lot of the problem users here do a lot of playing dumb and deflecting for their bad behavior when it's seriously not that difficult to avoid serious consequences here.
Again, the mods aren't the best, but if you're constantly getting dinged to the point that you're getting banned/suspended/purged, the problem likely lies more with your garbage posting style than the moderators.

The rules are just very strict here. Sometimes borderline stuff doesn't get modded at all, sometimes it gets modded heavily. There isn't great consistency and its somewhat subjective. At the end of the day its just an online message board. If you take the rules so seriously in order to maintain a high level account and keep high amounts of karma, then I'd say you're the one that probably needs help.

I get banned alot. Usually its for posting something offensive and thats because alot of stuff I post isn't considered PC by the people who subjectively decide whats moddable or not.

Because there is no consistency as to what the actual rules are. They are made up on a day by day basis from mod to mod. I talk mad shit about the mods/admins being lousy at their jobs all the time, and yet, I rarely ever get moderated and I can't even remember the last time I've been so much as warned (never gotten anything worse than that).
If you're getting hit constantly, then you need to learn how to be more discreet and work on your posting style.

Also, this reminds me of another news story that made the rounds here's a few years ago.

Some old, White guy was harassing a Black mailman for basically no reason when all he was doing was delivering mail and shit.
The old guy was threatening him, calling him racial slurs, and eventually threw a punch at him. The mailman hit him once and the old guy died. He got off because it was ruled as self-defense.

Despite the fact that the old guy started the whole thing and threw the first punch, a good chunk of CE was still trying to put all the blame on the Black guy because "He should have just ignored him."

Most of the mods here are definitely super incompetent and inconsistent, true. But that doesn't change the fact that a lot of the userbase is made up of a bunch of oddball Silly Billies that, for whatever reason, can't seem to help themselves and stay out of trouble.

I like dropping a good shitpost as much as the next person, but some people here take it way too far.

I've never been kicked there but I once tried to jump on top of a slippery fire hydrant in the Winter time and that didn't go over well.

I'm giving it a shot. So far, the controls doesn't seem to be much of an issue for me.

I'm starting it up now because it was on a sale. It's the first game I've sat down and played in months. The visual/style/aesthetic of this game is crazy cool.

Which part of Ecuador? My family went around the country when visiting family who lives in Quito. We went to Manta and Guayaquil for a few days each and traveled by bus through the mountains. This was 9 years ago but Quito looked really run down in one part and my family's house was like on a steep hill so the balcony had a pretty good view. I scraped my hand on the Andes Mountains while getting out of the car coming back to Quito getting breakfast. No one speaks English in Ecuador so me and my brother always had to rely on my mom or grandmother. If you're in Quito I recommend visiting the equator monument.

We're also going to Quito. The main thing I can't wait for is eating a bunch of food there!

Why would you go to Ecuador of all place instead of Japan?!

I'm doing this as part of school. Japan sounded neat initially, but 1. it's more expensive, and 2. the Ecuador program sounded like it would be a lot more interesting. It feels like it's going to be a lot more hands on with what we're going to do and it covers an important aspect in terms of the media based classes I'm doing.
The Japan one was basically just a glorified tour and the whole program is based around psychology. Japan looks like a pretty cool place that I would love to visit one day. But for right, Ecuador won me over.

I was originally going to do Japan, but I switched it to Ecuador.

I just got the receipt and everything, so this is happening. I've also never flown before, so I'm pretty terrified of that.

I watched him play Sekiro once and that shit was hilarious. I'm surprised he put up with the game as long as he did considering his dislike for FromSoft games.
There was a boss in particular that he had to fight or something. According to him, he needed some very specific items to beat the boss that he grinded for hours to get. He went up against the boss, used the items wrong, thus wasting it, then died. So, he turned the game off hoping it saved the items.

When he realized that it didn't, he had a complete meltdown and deleted/uninstalled the game right then and there. I love watching him play games because he loses his shit like that all the time. Don't even get me started on him playing Overwatch...

It's not just games that he does this with. It seems like this is just how he goes about indulging in any guilty pleasures he have.

He does this with shit like anime too. He's one of the biggest anime fans I know -- going on shady websites to watch new shows in sub and read mangas online religiously (that level of anime fan) -- but he'll constantly downplay how much he actually likes it and, again, gets really upset if I walk in on him watching it.

Nah, he has been vocal about his dislike for Souls games for years and how he's done with open-world games in general became they're a waste of time. So when he saw everything leading up to Elden Ring's release, he was like, "It's just open-world Dark Souls. Yep, I'm never playing this shit."

The thing that makes it funny is that he does this with damn near everything.
If the subject of Marvel movies pop up in conversation, he'll go on about no longer caring for them because they "have nothing for him" anymore and he's been saying this since, say, 2016. He has seen all of them to date...

He had this huge hate campaign against Cyberpunk and how he would never play that game (justifiable because the game had an awful release). That didn't stop him from still buying it day one and putting all nighters into game. For a while he would quickly turn it off if he heard me coming into the room.
