Been playing the LE edition and it makes the games better than ever. Also since they come with all of the DLC, you get to experience ME3 with extra content thats pretty good and also integral to the main story.

and Im up to ME3. This is probably my favorite "recent" franchise, so been waiting to see how the nostalgia googles hold off and...

Starting with ME1...it was a bit hard going to that one from the gameplay POV. Great characters, great story with some interesting moral dilemmas, are the games strong points. Dialogue was generically good. I never had problems with the mako back then, but I did find it more annoying this time, specially traversing around the mountainous areas. Overall it was an amazing intro to such a deep, fleshed out world, but gameplay is dated.

ME2 still is the crown jewel from the series. One of those near perfect games, but this time I realized and at least for me, that it was thanks to the characters stories and dialogue. The dialogue feel leaps and bounds better than the first game. More mature, smarter...even if Shepard becomes a bit more of an asshole than in the first game. If only it had a slight stronger core narrative as the first with a more cut and dry antagonist it wouldve been even better. But the story pretty much is Shepard gets revived. collect members. destroy collector home base. It is a character driven game.

Now Im like 7 hours into 3 and Im enjoying it a bit more this time around. Back then I had a bit of a hate campaign about the commercialization of the game. Things like the casual mode, multiplayer, less dialogue choices, less team mates..etc. BUT! Ive come to appreciate the why on some of these things. At least the fewer characters helps the focus and allows them to be part of the story together more times than in previous games. For example ME 1 and 2 you only see you 2 chosen companions through all stories and missions, so you rarely saw any sort of engagement between the characters. ME3 fixes a bit of that with more story points where you them interacting and reminiscing about the past.

Also, and this is a big deal...is that I never got Javik my first time playing through the game and after meeting him I AM PISSED OFF. That due to greed I was robbed of what was a main story experience. This is not Zaeed or Kasumi that barely have any lines besides their missions, he is an important companion. And going back to the commercialization thing, we see how EA wanted big numbers from this game with the inclusion of the blandest, lamest character ever. Its like every line he speaks is meant to attract douchy 15 year olds and Shepard even talks the same way with him. The game feels more high budget than any previous one and with that comes the good and the bad. Its like 2 was directed by Wes Anderson while 3 was directed by James Cameron. Overall it is still a very solid entry which Im enjoying even more this time around.

I agree. Its also being made bigger due to the fact that hate sells and its a big thing on YT. There are many reason to hate SW nowadays, but diversity shouldnt be one of them

Well gas is starting to come down. A lot of those high prices were or are due to supply chain issue from covid, but Im with you that most products wont be coming down.

But there is a big difference between a few cents or dollars for essential products than it is to test the limits of your purchasing power for a car or house and suddenly getting priced out.

Houses will HAVE to come down cause they are LOSING a big number of POTENTIAL BUYERS each day that passes. Check the numbers of cancellations on houses due to buyers suddenly not being approved anymore. As I said...the difference between 3 to 6% on a 500K house is around 1,000 dollars.

Because most are artificially inflated? Going to almost double in value is not normal or sustainable and was only happening because people could afford the monthly payments thanks to historic low rates.

Historically, you are kinda right, but prices are so far and beyond elevated that they kinda have to. Higher interest rates is pricing out a lot of people from affording monthly payments, specially when the average home price today is 500k. At 3% that would just be a 2,100 payment which many middle class families can easily afford, while at 6% it turns into a 3k payment which is prohibitive for most people in the US. Theres been a lot of cancelled purchases due to this lately which makes for a rise of inventory, houses sitting for longer time and sellers cutting prices to attract buyers.

My fear is home prices going down and corporations, rich people outright buying them. Hell lots of ppl are saving just to do this.
