Nia is amazing. I think party member 4 is also one of the best.

As far as the gacha system goes, feel free to dip your toes in, but by endgame, you will likely use only 1 or 2 blades from the gacha system if even, so don't let that part really stick you.

As said before, I think this game has a better soundtrack, and the combat does pick up eventually. Might take a hot minute, but by the time you have a full party with blades, it's go time.

Gaur Plains is the wow moment that really hits you that this game has something special to offer, especially ten years ago. It's obvious how effective it is when you play XBC2 and it tries to do the same thing to less effect.

It doesn't quite have the beauty of the night maps, but Gaur Plain is the place that says "yes, you are climbing this massive titan". I think it sets that scope that is also, as recently said, explored on Sword Valley and Fallen Arm.

The maps have built in travel points for you to teleport to as well.

And yeah, the wiimote controls might seem weird now but they worked well on the Wii.

My response was equally over-the-top.

I know you mean nothing from it, but last topic, I included the caveat that these were all games I inherited and everyone seemed to want me to ignore that I owned P5 and go buy Royal instead.

The "no, play Royal" line has gotten on my nerves lol.

I don't know if I want to do a lengthy game at the moment - I wouldn't call Spider-Man open-world either. It was just NYC. Relatively short game boosted by me doing a bunch of battles focusing on disarming people to fill a quota.

Anyway, this was a fun game. Did 100% of map and most of the benchmarks, though by the time I got to the Sinister Six section, I was feeling a little done with the game, so maybe I should stop trying to be so completionist.

I liked No Way Home fine but the more I think about it the more I think it's a bad movie.

But I don't feel strongly enough to go saying that a lot nor do I want to rain on everyone's parade, so to speak. So I'll just bring it up once now and never talk about it again.

Right? Like, I want to talk about it because I am disappointed that I didn't like it as much, but other people really like it so I don't want to try to rain on their parade either.

It's interesting because the film played a lot on nostalgia. So it is also neat to see that you liked it without that part.

Also, the Raimi films are worth seeing, at the least the first two. Spider-Man 2 is a really good movie, and Alfred Molina was better there then he was here (even though he was the best in this movie).

Finally got to break my month-long quarantine and see No Way Home. I loved it! I stayed far, faaaar away from any discussion about it and I'm kinda sad I missed the discourse - did people like it?

There's a very small group that was dissatisfied with it. I've spoken to I think one other person who didn't really like it, but we didn't even quite not like it for the same reasons.
