I swear people are getting worse at this game

Dropped from Eggsecutive VP to profresh +2. Can't get a win in SR and regularly getting teammates with 5+ deaths and sub 500 power eggs :')

Fuck this game.

Having a lot of trouble having fun with this game lately. Took a break for a week and can't seem to win anything now. Managed to win 1 in 8 salmon run games since I started again. Usually wave 1 losses

Took a break from Splatoon for a bit, came back and Immediate lost 2 salmon runs on the second wave.

Thinking another break is in order

You're probably right. It's not like the fish can't surge on a couple stages at a time while regular matches continue on other stages anyway. Or they can just say screw the lore and double book the stages lol.

I'd like if they changed the Hub at least.

That could work. Especially since, if the premise is that salmonids are invading regular stages, it would make sense for regular battles to be unavailable. And having two events that prevent you from doing regular matches each month could be annoying for people who like Anarchy Battles. It would be a shame to miss out on the Splatfest atmosphere though. It's really fun seeing the city all decorated and Splatnet full of team memes. But also I really wanna try out the Big Run. Salmon Run is my favorite mode, and if Big Run is any good, every other month could be a long wait.

It'd be interesting but I can't really see it. People don't really buy Splatoon for Salmon Run/PvE and I can't see them making PVP unavailable for the time the big run is going on. Even if it's only 2 days.

We are probably getting Big Run (Salmon Run takeover of plaza and Turf War maps) this month. Not sure if they will alternate those and Splatfests?

I love the idea of this mode, curious how it'll actually work out but one of the coolest new things in Splatoon 3 imo

Can't say I'm a big fan of this random salmon run. You get too many lopsided kits. We got a charger, a hydra, a sploosh and a stringer for our final wave. Which might have been okay if the sploosh made any effort to take out the small mobs considereding he has probably one of the best weapons for it. But of course he didn't, and nobody else had weapons to even remotely compensate for it and of course we were overrun.

Regardless, even if you occasionally get an OP comp doesn't matter because if you get a bad comp next wave, well, you only need one loss to blow the run.

Flyfish I'll sometimes ignore depending on how the game is going. It's sometimes not worth putting yourself in a bad position or letting other bosses roam to take out a flyfish. Big shots...yeah, generally a bad idea to leave them alone. Though sometimes they can be hard to find if there's too much going on.

I made it to Eggsecutive VP last night, but lost it from a DC and got demoted quite far back into profresh so kinda salty at Salmon Run right now.

I got 14 kills with the Bamboozler.

Today was a good day.

It's absoluely bonkers how well the Reeflux turfs considering it also has one of the best specials in the game. Every reflux I face gets 7-10 tenta missiles a game and it's stupid as fuck.

I didn't realize the modes changed and thought we were playing Tower Control in splat zones >_>

I could try, I just assumed they wouldn't do it because once they give you it you could buy your glasses anywhere. I think that's why most places don't put it on the prescription unless you ask.

Once I hit S I'll probably play Clam Blitz more since I don't think I'll get higher than that and you can't be demoted. I got screwed at release when all the ranks were thrown together at B+ and ended up at -1000 points at one point. I'm at A+ now though

Finally beat the Cohozuna again today. Ten bronze B)

I did get a gold earlier though.

I wonder if the scales you get is based on how much you contribute to the cohozuna wave? Like overall, with revives, boss kills, and actual damage to the Coho?

Yeah pretty much where I'm at with it. But early match in turf war it's pretty damn useful. Can pretty much get up to the enemy zone and spray the entire mid back to my base without over extending before the enemy gets close by using the fizz bombs to make a trail. It's extremely less useful in the other game modes.

Probably switch back to the dualies or the splatana once I get to 5 freshness.

It's great in turf war yeah, because it inks fast and most people on turf war are casual so you can get close and outplay them with movement. I used it almost exclusively during the splatfest. I use it in Ranked sometimes just because, but it's not ideal.

Tbh aerospray gets outranged by pretty much everything, has shit accuracy, a shit kit and isn't extremely useful for modes that aren't "paint everything" but it still seems like a viable weapon in most situations that don't involve splatlings lol

I mean, you'll pretty much never win 1v1s against similar skill level opponents. But the real problem with the Aerospray is that so many weapons do it's job better. If your intent is to win more you're only really doing yourself a disservice by using it because at a certain point, the weapon is the limitation.

I dunno. I don't see a problem with it. They should outclass splatlings because they're much harder to use. You're in S+, right? So you're going against a lot of players who have put in the time to get good at chargers or just have good mechanical skills in general. In lower ranks splatlings are generally better because they're far easier to use. Making them equal would essentially kill the charger as a class. Why put a ton of time into learning to use a weapon when an easier one is equally effective?

Also, hydra is great in some game modes but a lot harder to use effectively in others.

They should though, because the skill level needed to use them effectively is much higher. If they weren't better there would be no reason to use one.

Edit: chargers in turf war is pretty dumb though.

People have been getting clipped thru the floor by other weapons too. Saw one with one of the blaster variants one shotting thru the floor - but they had to position correctly (both players) and get lucky

The floor thing is a separate issue, the wall clipping is solely on the sloshing machine. It goes through any wall unless it's super thick.

Like which? I'm not sure you know what I'm actually referring to. I don't mean you can kill people around walls, you can literally hit people directly through walls with the sloshing machine. The bits of ink around the ball can clip through walls and kill people.

Also I like how they put the tenta missiles on less weapons, but the weapons it's on make it more spammable than ever. I'm regularly seeing 10+ tenta missiles a match

I mean, fair, though I do feel like you get better rewards the more damage you do. Oddly, the only gold scale I've got was in a match with a DC

You know, sometimes in Salmon Run if I know I have a Cohozuna coming up I almost want to lose the third wave when it's obvious the team I'm with isn't going to do fuck all to him >_>

Okay Reef Lux CAN kill mobs, but it's still not great at it. And it's not amazing at killing bosses and its range isn't amazing. It just isn't really good at anything like Explosher and Sploosh.

Haven't actually used the Goo Tuber much, but at least it'll one shot steelheads reliably. Well okay, I say reliably, but it's easy to overestimate its range and whiff lol.

I usually try to deliver an egg after each kill too, but I think we just kept getting more and more urgent targets spawning the whole time. And other bosses popping up to block the eggs. No idea how I went a whole wave without delivering any though. I blame having the explosher lol. Flyfish come first! >:0

Gootuber can reliably kill the steelhead but you have to get closer than nearly any other charger (maybe any? Not sure about the bamboozler) to do it, opening yourself up to getting surrounded with no way out because it's a charger lol

Sploosh and Explosher are both great, but very limited. Knocking out flyfish without bombs automatically makes explosher god tier, but it's very slow and cumbersome when trying to do anything else. Sploosh is great for mobs, but has zero range. Goo Toober is like most chargers in that it's fine if the other weapons are all good, but these aren't. And Reef Lux is of course garbage for SR. This set has some stuff going for it, but it's just wonky enough to be disastrous lol.

Somehow my failures so far have been from a severe lack of eggs rather than crew wipes. Definitely my fault too a few times though. Like that wave 1 where I didn't deliver any. x_x Still feels better than a crew wipe, but maybe these weapons take too much effort to kill things and that's why no one is grabbing eggs.

I thought reflux is pretty good. Tapping turfs like crazy and can reasonably deal with small salmonids and charged shots are decent against bosses.

I find gootuber worse tbh. A slow firing weapon with no range? Basically useless.

Until you get a mothership wave and it literally doesn't shoot far enough to hit the mothership on the basket. Let alone trying to hit the boxes.

Overall? I prefer Yakuza these but GTA regularly revolutionizes gaming and are generally some of the best reviewed games of all time. It's definitely the better series
