Thousands of people condemned Amber Rose Barnes, 36, after she proudly posted about the kill on Facebook, along with graphic photos of the deceased husky which she at the time thought was a wolf pup.
Her post read: So this morning I set out for a solo predator hunt for a fall black bear. However, I got the opportunity to take another predator wolf pup, she wrote. 2022 was a great feeling to text my man and say I just smoked a wolf pup.

It was after she posted to social media that she discovered her error, when furious strangers quickly pointed out she had actually killed a dog, not a wolf. Some commenters demanded her hunting license be revoked.

Despite the public dressing down, Barnes defended herself. In a Facebook post after the realization, she wrote: Yes I made a mistake because I did think it was a hybrid wolf pup yes I would still have shot it because it was aggressive and coming directly for me!

Even if it was a wolf, it feels odd that she is a bragging about a killing a puppy. .

I looked up the article and sadly, saw the skinned dog with her trophy-posing. It's obviously disturbing and disgusting. But the worse thing is that it's not even a legit puppy. It was a fairly sized Husky.

For her to be a hunter and confuse a husky and a wolf is insane. For comparison, this is a husky with a wolf-dog hybrid. Even being half-dog, the hybrid looks entirely different to the husky to say nothing about what a wild wolf would look like.

plus huskies are very friendly dogs. Their behavior is the opposite of a wolfs. She is lying through her teeth, she couldnt have thought the husky was a wolf

if she had gone hunting for bears and a peaceful Pitbull (not aggressive, not threatening her) was nearby and she had shot it dead and then skinned it and took pictures with the corpse and with the skin making odd faces and saying I just hunted a wolf puppy , only to later to buy a wolf hunting license after the fact to cover her ass she would absolutely get the same kind of backlash.

Are people generally even that afraid of wolves? They aren't usually depicted negatively in most media. And I can't picture most being that afraid even if they were approached by 1.

we grow up thinking theyre like lions, bears, etc but generally speaking theyre not that dangerous
