If you have to ask that, you probably aren't really sorry.
People are looking at this in black and white like you can slap a cookie cutter scenario to each and every altercation.

  • There is not always a point to say sorry.
  • There's also times when saying sorry might be necessary but you don't really mean it, because it's imperative both parties remain on good terms
  • There's also times when saying sorry might be necessary but you don't really mean it AND you didn't actually do something wrong. The other party is being a complete baby and they were the actual assholes. You just wish to still have this person in your life for whatever your reasons.

There's many scenarios actually, I just named a few. Honestly the answer really depends on the specifics of the situation and how the TC feels despite the situation.

A person never wanting to talk to you again doesn't mean you are actually in the wrong in the first place.

So this discussion really depends on over several circumstances.

You drive DD but are seriously saying this?

You can literally have a 0% acceptance rate and not be deactivated (fired) from DD. I thought this was common knowledge for anyone who drives for DD.
If so, then I'm wrong.

According to DDs on boarding (or maybe I'm thinking of GH..... I do both as a side hustle...... I can't keep these guys straight) if I fall below a certain % I risk being dropped.

Then don't use doordash, I can reject your crappy no tip order and pick up a 5 dollar tip order within seconds. Meanwhile, your food sits out forever until a naive driver picks it up or doordash bumps up the payout lol.
Not sure why so many throw this around like it's a real threat.

I'm a Doordash and GrubHub driver on the side. Luckily I have my actual career as my source of income, but I do Dash and GH on the side as a side hustle.

The way the system works, you can only "just not pick up" but so many orders before you practically get yourself fired.

In otherwords, "i can reject your order" or "then don't use doordash if you dont want to tip" is not the scary threat you think it is. Orders arent sitting around as often as some make it out to be in moderately busy, high populace areas. Someone will be practically forced to go get that order to keep their delivery gig.

You know what would actually be beneficial? Making doordash pay a better wage. Not me relying on a system that customers aren't exactly supposed to or even required to pay if they buy through DoorDash.

Well having people in your community who are sexual predators is different than people constantly talking about how cute Dawn's panties are.
Perhaps I'm dense on this subject.

Using smash bros again, what's the difference of perverts constantly being horny for Pythra?

Or the Sony board whining they can't stare at a video game character with comically large breast in a fighting game wearing a bikini to fight or else the character is "ugly?"

You do understand that Doordash is structured like Uber right? It's not a company you just apply for and get a set salary. If you don't tip then a dasher can just accept a tip order and move on with his day. It's you and the company that is losing essentially.
This attitude you have is the problem.

In fact the entire tipping culture in America needs to die.

Pointing at Uber doesn't excuse Door Dash who's it's own company btw, or Uber paying their staff under minimum wage (or whatever their supposed low wage is).

It is the employers responsibility to pay it's staff, not the customers.

These employers are in no rush to fix their wages partially because tipping culture encourages employers to rely on its customers to pick up the wage tab. Then customers encourage this behavior.

One of the things brought up in the article was segregation based on ability instead of gender. The article doesn't do great on it, but the implication is that there wouldn't be just one group, but multiple in different factors, instead of the gender binary.
So an overly convoluted system to comfort those who cant accept the average adult male is stronger and faster than the average adult woman.

It doesn't do a good job explaining it because the implications are just dumb for feel good points. It wants to dance around basic human biology to spare feelings that ultimately wouldn't benefit woman.

Sexism being a real issue when it's happening doesn't change whether or not a word can be abused and thrown around so easily it also becomes a buzzword.

There are definitely buzzphrases/buzzwords thrown around the moment a discussion isn't 100% to a person's liking.

The word sexism is most definitely one of them.

Throwing around these words so sparingly to anything you can claim, hurts when real sexism happens. All its doing is causing desensitization of the severity of the word since its thrown around so easily.

Because sorry, not everyone who doesn't see eye to eye on this is sexist. Nor does arguing x means you can automatically tie in your and z to their beliefs.

What is a "woke" comic? Let's start there.

The people that commonly complain about it usually cry when they see a black person, or a female without giant breast to ogle at.

Comics have always been political. Always. Xmen, Wonder Woman, Superman, Captain America and more. All political since it's creation. Comics didn't out of no where turn political, they were always political.

I don't get why we can't just pay wait staff more but keep tips.

Like, I have a great job, get paid a good salary, and I receive tips all the time because people like me and like the job I do. I don't get the problem \_()_/
I don't think anyone is arguing tipping someone should stop. If a customer wishes to tip someone, it should be a because they want to, not America's ass backwards custom of tipping with workers expecting a tip.

The problem being addressed is the expectation by workers that tips should be paid. The American backwards precedents of promoting a wage system contingent on tips, while offsetting the responsibility from the employer, regardless if that employer is yourself.

No one is obligated or forced to tip you, being complacent on such a system to pay a fair wage is backwards. Even the poor defend this backwards system, and ofc the rich love it

@wackyteen
Most proper barbers, to my understanding, only make money off of your haircut, so their price covers the time and equipment utilized to cut your hair (and % of the rent for their place if they have one they estimate they need to incorporate into the cost of cut)

Now stylists and chain haircut places probably don't.

That's probably where the practice of tipping your barbers came from. Not because their employer doesn't pay them a wage, but because you, the customer, literally are paying them their wage directly
Which lies the problem....

The employer literally isn't paying its employees at all or are not paying a proper minimum wage.

We Americans run on this cognitive dissonance of wanting better minimum wages, yet those same people demanding better wages defend tooth and nail the practice of employers not paying their employees.

The wealthy Americans love tipping culture because it gives them a lovely excuse to not pay their employees a proper wage.

Customers aren't required to even pay a tip lol. We Americans just expect one, and have the audacity to get mad at the customer instead of the employer making them work for tips instead of an actual minimum wage.
