Do people actually watch the movie and then season 2 which I know the start of adapts the movie in a show format, or do they skip one or the other depending on what they watch first

But anyway, I love Stone Ocean and especially the ending half of it. Pucci is so fuckin good, Dio and him are lovers and I won't hear anything else, and Weather and his backstory is fuckin wilddddd. Some people really hate the ending with the universe reset, I know lefty has said he despises it, but I think it's really neat. It gave the most gravity (heh) to a villain situation Jojo has ever gotten, which had been building up each part.

Like the first few parts the main villains were beings that needed to be stopped for the world's sake....before really doing anything that ACTUALLY affected the larger world. Part 4 actually played into this with Kira specifically just wanting to stay in his town and live out his life which I love, but Part 5 started branching into actual real world scale implications with Diovolo's shenanigans causing multiple towns and Rome to get fucked up with shit. So now Part 6 we actually get the entire world being affected, and while Pucci didn't achieve his 100% complete goal he got DAMN close and stuff has now been irreversibly changed. Just a cool progression to me, even if I'll miss the original timeline.

Even worse, in the manga Araki teases Giorno being in Florida during the Dio's sons arc in some mid chapter notes.

I was waiting the entire time after that for him to pop up lol, I wanted to see what a 26 year old Giorno would be like

When Keith switches off to let Josh Scogin (of Norma Jean/The Chariot/'68 fame) onto the track I get absolute goosebumps every time with the riff that gets played during it. And then the end with them going back and forth, so fuckin good.

These types of situations are when Netflix is actually acceptable, something that's already been fully out but hasn't been on streaming yet.

Oh no I don't think whatever ads there were advertised "HEY LOOK WE'VE GOT A MAIN GAY LEAD HERE", I'd say that Disney just under advertised it in general, it failed at the box office and now the excuse "It bombed because it went "woke"" can be grasped at by those who wish to do so. It's just interesting that in recent years, Disney has been pretty much on their A game with pushing their movies and making sure people know about them and it feels like they did much less with this one. Was it just because they thought there wasn't as much of a "hook" for it as other movies? That it would get some right-wing backlash claiming it was setting up to "groom kids" or whatever if it had gotten a much stronger push in advertising when they found out about the gay main lead? It could be purely coincidental, they already apparently took it out of theaters in countries in the Middle East, Africa and China because of the regulations there about queer representation. So they were going to lose money on this no matter what, at least compared to their other movies.

So from what I'm hearing, the advertising was mainly centered on television ads? Which a fair chunk of the population don't see now because we're in an age of streaming and cutting cable. So basically the demographic that got the biggest advertisement push were older individuals that would have a higher chance of being more....hesitant to a film with a gay main lead. Meanwhile mostly younger demographics that don't really have cable anymore, like me, barely saw anything for the film outside of "oh yea, I guess it's a new Disney movie coming out at some point." Also the demographics more likely to think having a main character representation like that is neat, even if it's corporate Disney mandated.

Like from what I know of the film, it does seem like a fairly generic story don't get me wrong. But even that can have merit if it's fun enough, hell The Bad Guys is a fairly generic story but Dreamworks really sold the characters and animation through a massive Twitter/online push and presence, and it ended up being a very fun movie and it did good numbers! I never saw anything even remotely close to that with this movie.

Other than the disappointment of no Where the fuck is Mickey and If there's no Mickey this shit ain't Disney, which isn't surprising unfortunately, shit's just as dope as I remember reading it. I also had the benefit of watching with my partner and my other roommate who are anime-only's and seeing their reactions to the final stretch was real good. Pucci is still an A-tier villain.

Oh hey! You did the album a great service with the write up, thank you! I also absolutely love the album and think it's their best (I Am King in 2nd.) It really just takes atmosphere to a whole 'nother level with its production work and song arrangements/compositions, it's relentless and wild while still knowing exactly when to take the foot off the pedal to then blast it back on for maximum effect. Some other songs you didn't specifically hit on that I'd like to mention are Cold.Metal.Place which really lives up to its title, especially the last leg of it. And the title track Underneath, which is so bold yet so perfect as the closing song of the record, if I had to take one song that best encapsulates Code Orange on this album it's Underneath, just a perfect ending.

His whole thing is building his brand through doing charitable things, so generally whatever money is brought in is given to various charities and such. But it's always felt a bit off to me, like technically he's doing good things but making himself the face and momentum of it and becoming this massive brand seems a bit weird to me personally. Maybe also because he goes full in on clickbait titles which always feels icky.

Zombieland Saga too good. I have Saki as my Crunchyroll avatar, and Lily's background episode still makes me tear up thinking about it. And Yugiri's background reveal lives up to how long it takes to get hers compared to the other girls.

I'm honestly shocked how poor the performance is right from the very start, and I'm really feeling the lack of voice acting. I feel like I have other little nitpicks that I'm not remembering in the moment.

Despite all of that....I'm still having quite fun with the game. The core game itself is still very entertaining to me, and the slight changes with sending the pokemon out on its own and such actually go a long way. It's fascinating how a game that is objectively this poorly built/optimized is still a positive experience so far.

Hopefully this'll put an end to the Netflix saga, but that's probably more just wishful thinking

ooooo 2 back to back. Yea, M'Lady serves more as a reinforcement/backing to Gentleman but I still like it on its own with the instrumentals and I actually like the repetition in the lyrics. I'd like to think it parodies the superficial nature of the incel, just repeating their fantasies of "their lady" on and on. Doesn't mean it has to work for everyone though!

Interesting choice for first drop from Radical. I'd say it's not my absolute favorite song from it, but I love the song all the same as I love the whole album. Things that stick out to me in it are the breakdown towards the middle, which is kind of a callback to a much earlier album sound from them they haven't done in a bit, and the passage with

" I thought my heart would break
I thought it would break but it started healing
It was more than I could take
So I gave it everything
I thought I'd never wake
It got so dark that I started dreaming
It was more than I could take
So I gave it all I had left"

I really like the vocal delivery and the riff that really supports it by giving it space to really hear. And of course the lyrical content itself I adore. Oh, also the "Imagine my surprise."

Disco Elysium winning as much as it did in its year makes TGAs alright with me. They do some bad choices just like other Award shows and can be cringey at times but it's not completely awful

Lol, Enjoy is actually one of my favorite songs on the album. I love how dark and menancing the beat is, and I think her voice matches it well. Very off kilter as Bjork should be. Also the line "This is sex without touching" I always thought was neat.

To me Salazar seemed to be being played more straight in this preview, although I suppose he got very little time in the trailer so I can't make that judgement for sure. We'll see, it looks wonderful no matter what really so this isn't really me complaining about it.
