It's wild that someone as young as Nas was at the time came up with Illmatic. It's literally the definition of street poetry and has some of the densest rhymes ever in popular rap. And yet it somehow still has fun songs and songs you could play at a party. Only a few to rap at that level have accomplished that. I think that's the best representation of what rap is at its core basically and Kendrick, Jay, Biggie, Tupac, Snoop, and Eminem, Wutang, and Outkast are the ones to do it.

There are things unique to sex work that can make it more dangerous than other work, but most of those could be theoretically fixed. What can't be fixed and what drives a lot of the discussion here is the moral element, the cultural idea that sex is and should be special in all circumstances and that smiling when you don't want to or damaging your body to mine coal is fundamentally different from giving someone a HJ when you wouldn't for free.

i understand where you're coming from, but there have always been pretty reasonable legal boundaries in the u.s. - clear and present danger, libel, slander in particular. jones crossed the line, provoked real harm against the claimants, and with that in mind the affected parties have the right to litigate accordingly.

Damages are not limited to the worth of the defendant or the company. If you do more damage than you're worth, that's your problem.

The damages make sense when you consider the sensitive nature of the lies and conspiracy theories in this case, their public nature, the harassment they provoked, their extended and repeated nature, and the effect they surely had on the parents.

How much damage would you say being publicly harassed and told your dead kids are fake/crisis actors/still alive would do to you? The answer to that is likely an unquantifiably huge amount of damage. In our legal system, we translate emotional trauma into cash because that's the only thing our system understands.

It's upper mid level GOT. It's had some excellent moments that have been better than all but some of the very best GoT eps. But the character interactions are not quite as good and there's been some almost season 7-8 or GoT level head scratching decisions.

But it's managed to reignite the fandom and make even most of the most cynical former fans express interest in this world again. I thought the vitriol, disappointment, and lack of faith created by GoT's ending would have made it impossible. And it's been far far better than I was personally expecting.

My mans Viserys was looking BAD this episode. Like just let this man rest, he can't be having any fun at all.

The women's role is to treat them like a king and to not know any better. And it's important for them not to have any other options or for them to not even be aware of other possibilities.

That's why there's such hatred of feminism, abortion, and contraception. You literally see the same things worldwide among conservatives, the only difference is how much power they've already snatched.

I remember when I was looking for a place with my ex, I was making 90K at the time and had a 800 credit score and the realtor was hesitant to let me sign for the apartment on the spot even though I make 20k more than required and had a spotless credit history.

I had my ex(white) apply for it and she got approved on the spot. She'd just graduated law school, had no income at the time, 740 credit score(req was 760). We went to sign for it together, the lady's face went red. My ex cussed her out and didn't sign the papers....I wanted that apartment.

In 2020 before we broke up she was able to rent a nice one bedroom appeasement which was just the first floor of a large house. No lease, just a handshake agreement and paid $900/month. In New York. Racism in real estate is real. My older brother and his wife got quoted like 300k for his wife's house that she paid 310k for and renovated. They got a white friend to meet an appraiser and got a quote for near 600k.

Damn...both of those are textbook discrimination. And I'd know, I'm a housing lawyer. If that appraisal thing happened recently, you should tell them to file a complaint with HUD and search out a consultation with a big national civil rights law firm like Cohen Milstein. Appraisal discrimination is a big push right now.
