Both those things you mentioned were either before the internet or before social media, and it was pretty easy to avoid the pop culture zeitgeist back then.

Eg I'm glad I never got spoiled on the thing in Harry Potter book 6, because years later I saw a youtube video of an ass who was driving around yelling the spoiler to people waiting in line.

Basically it comes down to getting off the internet, and simply not being interested. I'm not interested in star wars, so any spoilers are meaningless. If you don't know the original reference material, you won't even register it as a spoiler.

The Superfan episodes? I liked the superfan episodes as a new way of rewatching the office, but I discovered that even those still had deleted scenes not included, all they did was put the deleted scenes chronologically where they happen in the episode (still a time consuming task)

There was apparently a fanmade website that had the office extended before superfan episodes were a thing and they included all scenes apparently, but it was taken down

If you're still lower leveled you can go meep meep through a high level area, hit the treasure chests, then sell the loot.

I did that a few times with the place just south of where that Oikos guy is, level 40 gear sells for a damn good chunk of change when you're like 13.

What sucks is I can't wear the loot until I'm the designated level. So annoying

Ok now I realize what feels different about this game. I can't exit the animus. I can't go and explore Layla's surroundings. Not that I want to or care to, but it's just for if I want to read all her notes and stuff when I feel like it. But since I can apparently only return to the "real world" in story related progress, I'd have to create a separate save to read said notes and listen to audio files.

Debating when I should explore the world or just go to story missions. I'm already in Athens to meet Pericles. I thought Athens was gonna be late game destination, like the midway point at least. I ignored all points of interest on my way to Athens and gold quest icons to get there, because I wanted to progress further in the story to unlock any additional abilities or tutorials before I explore the world. Chaining assassinations and critical assassinations are a godsend, the less I have to do Odyssey's janky battle system the better. It's so satisfying to take out an enemy in one hit now.

One big missing one is Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. Which I think Pixar are trying to pretend doesn't exist.

Oh hell, that's 2 pretty big dealbreakers now, Buzz Lightyear series was great. Wait why are pixar pretending it doesn't exist, it was actually a good show, nothing to be ashamed about.

If I can just buy the materials that I get from dismantling... it seems it would make sense just to sell.

Ah but wait, obsidian glass isn't sold at the blacksmith. Of course dismantling is only giving me 1 glass at a time and only for really good weapons.

I'm getting rid of all the grey and blue gear, but only occasionally selling the purple ones because they sometimes have perks even better than the gold gear.

Huh you're right. Does anyone remember a cartoon called Jungle Cubs? It's basically their attempt to do the The Jungle Book animals as kids like with muppet babies and pup named scooby doo. Apparently it aint on disney plus neither.

Not nearly as big an oversight as Aladdin, but still worth mentioning.

Eric, Shawn and Topanga are the hosts. They just finished up season 1 and are gonna start season 2 in January. In addition to the recap episodes they have a whole bunch of interview episodes and have already interviewed Feeny, Minkus, Amy & Alan, Jack, Angela, and a whole bunch of side characters and writers/directors. Cory seems to be completely uninterested though and will likely never be a part of it.

OH it's a recent thing. I love all those guys, shame Cory isn't interested. They interviewed all those people on their podcast? Heck yeah I always liked Jack and Angela, they were great additions.

tell me more about this cast rewatching podcast I'm super intrigued. Who are we talking, Cory, Eric, Shawn? Topanga? I know that for Scrubs both Zach Braff and Donald Faison were doing their own rewatch podcast but that's the only one I know. Didn't know it's been a trend.

I love this interpretation of their relationship, them ribbing on each other and being sassy compared to the old school "clark kent pines for lois while she has eyes only for superman"

I'm biased because DCAU is the greatest and STAS is my favorite tas but this is my favorite interpretation of the character.

Oh. There is an inventory limit after all. If you have too many weapons/armor, you can't run anymore. At least you can dismantle them right from the menu screen, don't need to go to a blacksmith.

I never did do all the riddler trophies in arkham city. Wonder if it's a good idea to get the ps4 ports of the arkham games. Arkham knight did have a finality to it that kinda made me not look back on the series though...

Finally realized the reason I've had audio issues on my pc for years was due to the extremely old logitech speakers that don't pick up all the audio when I'm watching a movie or show. Not sure how to configure them to work properly and honestly am fine with just getting new ones but not sure what's best?

I debated using Peach for her floaty ability which helps but only slightly. But yeah I would much prefer to beat it with Luigi since I have been playing as him the entire game

Are you talking about BBC Sherlock? Which finale since I feel like mind loss could apply to s2 and s4 finale. Man... that show was something else. It had come out right after the cheesy RDJ sherlock movie, so we had mixed feelings about another Sherlock adaptation.

But our fears were assuaged; from the first season, hell first episode it proved to be a great show with a compelling cast of leading men. What I particularly love is the surprising references to the original short stories and how faithful they were while also setting it in modern day. Thought that was brilliant. I do remember the criticisms of that version's Moriarty especially after the awesome bait-and-switch in the first episode, but I waver between finding the Moriarty portrayal good weird or bad weird.

Then you have season 2, which ramps everything up. I loved their take on Irene Adler (wish we'd seen her again) and that season 2 finale... blew all our minds. I remember feeling like the hiatus took forever, especially since this was around the time when the 2 leads were becoming bigger and bigger household names, starring in hobbit movies and gentle whisperings of MCU involvement. So we didn't know if we'd ever see more Sherlock again.

Honestly, part of me knew they wouldn't be able to follow that finale up, and the only part of season 3 I liked was the premiere episode making fun of all the fan theories. But season 3 and 4 felt like a fever dream, they were so surreally trash. Still worth watching because the leads give great performances, but yeah. Still had one of the most laughable twists ever

Ok so I put all my ability points into assassin power and it helps, I can take out enemies with one hit now when I sneak up on them if they're my same level at least. Gonna progress further in the story and resist doing more message board quests because I really want to unlock the instant assassination chaining ability.

Such a great game. I can't praise it enough, it was so enjoyable to play. I will say that don't even bother attempting to play it as an musou game or even a hack and slash action rpg. You'll still need to rely on your persona moves especially as you progress further along the game.

But they already released it on switch there's nothing else I want from them.

I will say that Grandia 2 ended up being much better than 1 by a wide margin, so despite the crappy Switch port it was a fun ride.

And where the hell are Markos and Phoibe, they implied to be important characters to Kassandra almost like family, why no news if they died from plague or if they maybe left the island as well. FFFF I'm so pissed off right now.

There was a quest where I spared a sick family by killing the priest about to kill them and now the entire island of kephallonia is ravaged by a plague, and there's a perpetual greenish fog in the air when I went back there. I googled and it's gonna be stuck like this for the rest of the game.

I was literally this close to making the decision to kill them, and this was in a post covid world to boot but something stayed my hand.

This is bullshit, why was the choice either kill them or kill the priest. Why couldn't I have the option to tell them to quarantine and not go near any major cities.

So basically Kassandra's hometown is now ruined. I think I did every quest there already before leaving, but this is still making me fume

I still haven't even watched season 3 and they've already started season 4. Maybe I should rewatch season 1 and 2 to refamiliarize myself with the characters and what's going on. The hiatus from the pandemic was just so long, they killed off all hype I had and I remember having a lot

How far am I into the game? I already met the Wolf of Sparta, who is apparently the supposed dad who almost killed Kassandra and her brother what? That is so weird. I thought this was gonna be some kinda late game reveal but then again the story is still taking a while to take off.

Elpenor is part of the templars clearly, that's how they're gonna tie it back to "assasin creed" in case we forget this is meant to be AC right.

If I played as the guy character who is also named Alexios, would the baby sibling have been Kassandra?

I've noticed this, sometimes the treasures appear, sometimes all I get from ramming and sinking a ship is wood. Don't know what causes either or

I'm not sure I get the whole territory feature in this game. If I help Athens beat Sparta to win the territory, and then destroy the supplies, I just trigger the battle again and can make it be Sparta occupied territory? Why should I care to do either? Exp is the only thing that seems to matter since the items they give are meh, but with level scaling even exp isn't much of a reward.

Even with lowest level scaling setting, I can see how annoying the mechanic is going to be. If I do jump a few levels, the enemies jump along with me, meanwhile my gear is still the low level when I originally got it so killing enemies is not only not easier the more levels I gain, it actually becomes harder again if I don't waste all my resources to upgrade a weapon I really like or settle for a weaker weapon that's at least similar in level to me.

Breath of the wild this is not.

You know what? 5 years ago, a lanky thin friend of mine was telling me about how he had never gone to the gym in his life because he was worried guys would make fun of him for being weak or not lifting a lot of weights.

I told him that literally no one cares and no one was gonna make fun of him, his unfounded fear was ridiculous. It took 5 years but he finally started going to the gym and is enjoying himself exercising and weight training with low weights just like I said he would.

I think it's places like planet fitness that try to make people afraid that going to a "manly gym" like gold's gym will make everyone stare at them and/or laugh at them and it's not even true. The most interaction of that nature I've ever gotten at the gym was those dudes that like to suggest different positions for exercises you're doing like lat pulldowns or different form. I don't care for it but they're never aggressive, just enthusiastic.

You know how basketballers have girls sign an NDA when they sleep with them? Bruce Wayne has them sign an NDA that they didn't sleep together, so it's never revealed that he doesn't even bang all those models he has on his arm.

I've only seen him in GoT. He was instantly likable.

Good lord the clunkiness. I still feel annoyed by the quests, mostly because the jank is really frustrating me. You'd think with the sequel it would be more polished and less janky but how is it even more jank than Origins... I can spend like 3 hours straight just exploring and doing quests and getting into that cathartic rhythm, but the bugginess can take me out of it.

If this is what it's gonna be like when I play Valhalla in a few years, I might straight up skip it because Origins brought me back to AC but Odyssey is taking me out of it. Ubisoft/AC usually provide a cathartic experience where I can just turn my brain off and explore the world and do quests and stuff which is their main appeal and why I play them.

I'm still waiting to care about Kassandra like I did Bayek. The dialogue choices are making this game awfully close to a wrpg in the worst way and I think a game where you choose generic "I'll kill you!" dialogue or "I'll spare you dialogue" type dialogue is gonna be complete crap when it comes to story and character development, no game of that nature has proven me wrong yet.
