Ok I forgot how different the Mario side is. Mario doesnt give you speculative tiles to play with like Wario does (as well as other Picross games) to work through theoretical solutions before committing

What Mario wants you to do here is play with the penalty timer on the 10 piece you start to uncover on the fifth row. Guess at which way it extends until you hit an end point. Its a 2 minute penalty if you guess wrong but now you know the entire 10 piece

In these Mario side puzzles, time is not just the enemy, its also a (very limited) resource

yeah I didn't use hints until the second half of Special. I have no idea how those last few puzzles are possible without them? 20x25 with none of the numbers / combinations of numbers big enough to reveal anything??

In Mario puzzles if you place a tile incorrectly it cuts into your time limit by increasing amounts for each mistake

Wario puzzles (and all further generic Picross that exists to my knowledge) are just unlimited time and nothing is stopping you from making as many mistakes as you want. You just cant solve the puzzle until you get it right.

And theres ALWAYS some logic somewhere in even the biggest puzzles that can give you info. Give me one of the tough big ones to do as an example and Ill find it

As someone who plays a lot of low cost cards, the thing that improved my game the most is not feeling like I HAVE to play something just to play it.

The more info you just absorb before playing anything, like location reveals and opponent playstyle in the first couple turns, the better off youll be. Obviously there are locations that supersede this strategy.

IIRC the Wario stages are essentially what Picross became moving forward, as far as how errors are judged and such.

I like that Hawkeyes effect field stays where he was if he gets moved right after hes revealed.

How would you get rid of onside kicks? Theyre not like special options you select to try. Theyre just exploits of the normal rules

I guess you could make it 20 yards until the kicking team can recover the ball?

Yondu really is my MVP at this point, as far as value per cost goes.

Its really great that they show you which cards hes killing. That would probably be the best way to nerf him, to hide that info.

Yondu + Lukes Bar is such a fun combo. Just keep killing their deck every turn until they give up

EDIT: Also no, you dont have to play any of those 4 cards. Having one in your deck just gives you 2 Vibranium per match instead of 1. I dont know if each one doubles that output because I only have Ironheart, but I dont think it does

My formula is a bit different. Spoilers in case anyone wants to guess it:

Always play the leftmost viable location. So if it's Murderworld, you play on the middle. This is because people like to play it safe with known locations, and they read left to right. This works well over 75% of the time. They'll play right very rarely, or if the left location is really ambiguous (Sinister London or something).

So naturally, if you want to avoid it, play right. I think under 5% of people play right first.

Im one of the 5% I guess, because I use Quicksilver and thats the natural thumb swipe motion if Im just tossing him out randomly

You are slightly more likely to get boosters for non-upgraded cards. It works better to make a coherent deck of like nine cards and rotate out the last three. Once in awhile you'll get extra boosters for a card you use regularly but you only need five boosters to get to uncommon anyway.

Oh yeah Im not talking about upgrading with credits through the Shop, I just mean actually playing matches with a deck full of Common/Uncommon cards even if they dont work well together just to obtain boosters for them
