Stat inflation isn't artificial difficulty unless it's to an absolutely ludicrous degree. It is not ludicrous in Elden Ring.

what i can say is that a lot of people complained about the difficulty spike, and it's right where the numbers jump on the chart -- after the sewers.

i've been playing it almost nonstop, myself, don't get me wrong. but i've also hung out with the community enough to hear the complaints. this is from a mod pack that smooths the scaling, because of the complaints. it's totally a thing.
