I don't even hate social media. I've used tons of twitter and reddit and FB and still do(less so Twitter). I just wish MY kind of socialization didn't die off as the bigger ones were introduced :(

TC if you're playing it on Steam I believe the DLC is a tad cheaper if you go to buy the bundle and already own the game. I got the DLC and actually just got the last achievement I needed the other day so I'm at 100% as of the DLC achievements/unlocks.

They hold a MASSIVE share of the market - far more than a single company should - and are using their massive advantage to strangle competition.

Right now, they're doing some pretty scummy things that they're only able to do because they have such a huge monopoly.

For instance, Audible is absolutely massive, and a big part of the struggle for competition to it is because if you aren't sold on Amazon, you practically don't exist. This is bad on its own, but Audible also has some horrifically greedy practices - they only offer authors 40% of each sale(well below the 75% standard, and even below the 50% standard for physical books sold in stores), and then if you don't sign EXCLUSIVELY with Audible it's dropped to 25%.

Like maybe I'm crazy, but the internet used to feel a LOT more social. I miss forums and chat rooms full of random people but not so overcrowded that you can't learn a few names and make a few friends. I miss public servers in games that had people coming and going but also had regular faces you would get to know over time, now it seems gaming has all gone towards matchmaking, which is great as an option but not a replacement :(

When I worked at an addiction recovery center, they had to regularly close down their detox because they couldn't get nurses. They were non-profit and paid non-profit wages so nurses from temp agencies went for higher-paying jobs and they got no support from the state to attract them. They ended up having to close the detox and change it to build the size of their in-patient facility from 13 to 26 beds. Which is great for having more residents, but put more strain on the staff and left fewer good detox options :/

Like, guaranteeing the treatment of the workers(and thus the stability of our infrastructure) is incredibly important, but we ALSO need to be expanding our rail travel systems, and that's never going to happen when it's being handled by a bunch of greedy corporations who can barely keep their own shit running correctly. If we can get an even somewhat reliable cross-country rail network, we can lower our dependence on flights and airlines.

So the big four areas as I see it are the Amazon storefront, Kindle and Audible, Prime Video, and Amazon delivery.

Should each of these be split into four separate companies? Should they be combined somehow? Are you wrong and believe Amazon should be left alone?

Yes it does, but as others have mentioned, nearly everything you partake of has some evil connection or other.

But then again, that argument falls apart when you have an incredibly easy option to avoid any conflict here - if you want it, buy it secondhand.

Essentially, Knock at the Cabin is based on a book by Paul Tremblay, Cabin at the End of the World. Tremblay is one of the biggest horror authors to come out of the last decade, and I'm frankly surprised he hasn't been adapted already as A Head Full of Ghosts was a much bigger book and just screaming for it, but I was excited about this one until I saw how Shyamalan has been carefully cutting any mention of the author or the original book out of the marketing and trying to treat it as an original movie :/

Wife is out if the boot and walking and van even do stairs on her own, though the ones to our entrance are still a lot. Hopefully that resolves some of my lingering depression x.x

Thats how I feel. I am the same way with music there a lot of bands where artists have different political opinions than me and I enjoy their music. If I worried about all this kind of stuff I wouldnt enjoy anything.
