Reminds me of people that sneak in food to a movie theater, when they could had chicken wings right before going in.Sometimes lines are long at check in and/or security and people don't have time to sit down before boarding. While I'd agree bringing fish or curry is a bit much, most airports don't have that as an option. Look at it like the plane lotto.
