It's not always fool proof, but as my 8 years experience of being a Senior Manager at a CPA firm shows that almost anytime we hired someone with more work experience, they always perform up or beyond expectation vs. someone with little to no relevant work experience in the particular field because we run into issues like them not learning/picking things up quick enough or have terrible work ethics like coming to work late constantly.
