Easy gut answer is Sam considering Frodo technically gave in... but in the end, Frodo actually making it to the volcano was what was needed to happen. I believe I read once that no one would have been able to resist the temptation of the ring, and that the closer you are to the it's birthplace, the stronger it's hold on you would be. That leads me to believe that had Sam been in possession of the ring at that spot, he too would have succumbed to the dark arts. A stroke of luck was truly the only way of getting rid of that ring. But the truth of the matter is that Sam was there to save Frodo... but Frodo was there to save his people. And do keep in mind, Frodo was the one who chose to spare Gollum. Sam wanted Gollum dead. I even got to skip school to play Battlefield 3 with my dad. A part of me misses that culture for video-games. I personally believe it was a great father-son moment. Then there was the Switch, which was literally spur of the moment. Already preordered one, but I was at Walmart to pay off the special edition of BotW I preordered, but then I saw everyone in line. That's when I realized that I could get a Switch right then and there, and so I decided to wait. Called my friend up to wait with me, and we talked with the other people there about random stuff. Was such a fun night. Even though I was only a few weeks away, I wouldn't trade those first few works at all, as it was great times! BotW in the lobby with the boys! Obviously, the championship still means a lot to a player; I don't want to make that sound otherwise, but I recall some NHL players valuing the gold at the Olympics just as much (and maybe even more) than a Stanley Cup victory.
