IIRC her whole stick started with suggesting m2f trans shouldnt be allowed in female bathrooms due to the risks of assault.

Ignorant as this take may be, this in itself seems to be predicated on her own experiences.

Ever since then I feel like everything has just be doubling down on that original viewpoint. She got butthurt she got some abuse for those views and seems to have decided being anti-trans would be her passion project ever since because she couldnt cope with the criticism at the time and rather than admit she made a mistake goes deer and deeper down the rabbit hole.

Just a classic case of a narcissist who cant admit she was wrong and has no one round her to reel her in.

Ironically I was thinking about whether there were more trans people in the world or Jews and realising there are probably people who support Jews and are against any sort of anti semitism who probably would have no issues dehumanising transgender people. Imagine if the world took anti-trans rhetoric as seriously as they took anti-semitism rhetoric.

Oh yeah I agree completely. Just letting it run wild is a stupid idea. Least of all because if hospitals get overrun then people with non covid conditions tend to suffer because resources are spread too thin and there arent any beds free.

In the UK specifically there was a lot of media talking about how cancer sufferers werent getting the treatment they needed because resources were too busy with covid cases. Many people died because the cancer was either found too late or they just werent getting the care they needed.

Another fuck up was how care homes were massively fucked over because they were sending old people with known covid back into them to free up hospital spaces and lo and behold it ran like wide fire in the care homes taking out many many more people than needed. Of all the decisions made in the UK that had to be up there with the worst.

Those restrictions all make sense during the early stages but Im not sure them being indefinite is suitable. At some point you do have to balance quality of life and the economic impact of any such restrictions.

Is there any situation in which you would you be happy to see those restrictions relaxed? Or when you say indefinitely do you literally mean forever?

Because as I said covid is never going away now. Its with us forever. Much like colds and flus. Would you also like said restrictions to be in place for the flu as well and if not why not and probably more importantly whats the difference in your opinion?

then the solution is to keep the protective measures in place indefinitely. it's not hard. such measures were implemented in a lot of places, and they worked while they were in place.

Amazing game. Only the second FF game Ive finished twice along with FF9. Battle System is top tier and just casually grinding isnt usually enough to beat some bosses as you have to really think out a strategy.

zero covid did work where it was implemented. the "true best outcome" would have involved keeping those policies in place and restricting travel until the virus was actually gone. it was implemented in a lot of places. and it worked. some of those places relaxed restrictions, and, of course, they stopped working. they are necessary.

The virus doesnt just go away. Its like saying the flu will go away one day. Its just not going to happen. Covid is with us forever now. We are never going to get to the point no one will ever catch it again.

From my point of view the plan should have been restrict the spread of covid as much as possible until the point a vaccine was released and then at that point slowly allow people to start going about their life as usual. The key for me is to not overwhelm the hospitals.

At the same time vulnerable people should be more protected. Care homes and the like should be a lot more locked down until everyone has had the vaccine.

The idea you can lock down for a period of time and then open up and no one will get it is crazy talk. Not that Im suggesting we should let it rip. Social distancing has to form one of the most basic ways of dealing with the virus but its only one part of a larger plan and certainly there is to be a plan to reopen as well and accept when we do people are gonna catch it. But by that point we have the vaccine and those not vulnerable have already had it so the chances of catching it decrease.

Second time through the game. I completed it on hard. The BT segments are really easy if you just take it slow. I don't think I got got more than twice in the entire game and that was when I was being careless.
