marketing nfts as something you can buy or speculate on, rather than as intermediary-less custodial/gating infrastructure for developers, is where they went wrong. but as with most things crypto, there's too much temptation to gore integrity in the name of fast money.

in short, 99% of the nft industry is a mistake.

i think making more than twice your overall cost of living feels rich, regardless of income.

ah, i might have just been in subsectors where its active use for development was less popular. the subsidiary at my last job was using it before management phased it out, and the job before was securing data from java-based application stacks among other things.
