Really looking forward to playing the remake but seems there was some ambience that was dropped from the original. Remake has a bunch of visually impressive stuff but there's some obvious ones that are better in the original like the room for the regenerators.

Just hope the remake doesn't keep the same health pool and damage effects as its predecessor remakes in is more like the OG re4

I wholly disagree on Regenerators.

The Regenerators in RE4 remake are infinitely more terrifying. They are played up like the scary as fuck threat they are until you figure out how to take them out.

It's probably one of the best bits in the whole game, and the whole game has amazing parts.

My favorite part of that game is when the whole game is treated like a very simple murder mystery, then suddenly my dude does some fuckin john wick crouching tiger hidden dragon batman shit and is talking to ghosts and he's like some monk nomad or some shit to homeless people or whatever and then he's doing it with the Detective who's suddenly head over heels for him

Well, it could be extremely OP. Like, this is just a random scenario I'm making up in my head, but...

One thing I like to do in my Knull/Destroy deck, if I get Gamma Lab, is to basically put down as many cards as I can there, then Venom to basically buff up my Venom to an absurd degree and all all that power(24-36 usually) to my Knull.

Now, let's say I do just that.

Then someone tosses down Bear form Snowguard onto Gamma Labs alongside some more low cost cards.

Now I just lost my 24-36 power Venom in favor of a single 12 Hulk, plus, they now have 3-4 12 power Hulks I need to deal with.

Bird form can ignore stuff like Luke Cage and Death's Domain too.

At least, that's what I'm getting from all this.

Her performance was awful but they okayed it. They were ones who didn't say "That was terrible, let's do another take but actually try this time."

I wonder if she only had like 4 hours to record to the lines, did one take and that was it.

I figure the voice director had a lot more difficulty considering she was just a straight up actor over a voice actor and likely had no say on her being used.

I swear to God. For the past like...what, 30-40 games, I've had the absolute worst luck.

I'd have the IDEAL cards to play, but then dream dimension. I'd have a game winning play, then this dude has Doctor Doom in a destroy deck. The game will specifically target Hela and put her both in my opening hand, and as the first card it discards. I can have 7 cards in my hand, and it will specfically discard Hela.. It's like the devs are watching me play and tweaking the game JUST enough to make me lose entirely by random events.

Who tf thinks to play a Polaris turn 6 against a discard deck that already lost Morbius(I got another from Helicarrier)??? Why run Doom in destroy???

The original games had no Japanese voice acting. I forget which game was the first to introduce it, but I think it was RE6. Every game before that had only an English dub. Same was true for DMC(I think, again, until recently) and I think Viewtiful Joe?

It definitely wasn't fully directed at that. She mentions what 'her' Ada is like and it looked like she was trying to brush aside the critique there. At least, that's what I'm seeing. Bringing up the character and how it doesn't fit a stereotype when the harassment is directed at her(not the character) would be weird if she was just addressing the harassment towards her and her alone.

Next turn, got MODOK. MODOK discarded my whole hand, then Lockjaw brought in Hela. Hela filled the board, I(for the first time ever) got the fast forward. And that's what my board looked like. Needless to say, I snapped immediately.

Was there a way he could have won? Because from what I can see, he was pretty damn well out of luck.

Why not say stuff that makes sense to defend herself, then? "I was acting like that to portray Ada as detached" is a lot more true to how the character sounds than "SHE'S KIND AND FUNNY!"

It's not really a case of up in arms. I just think she's a shit voice actor. Her 1 minute part in Welcome To Racoon City was also terrible. The game is still one of the best ever made, easily.

Mind you, it's not emotionless. Javier Bardem in No Country For Old Men is an emotionless performance. Patrick Bateman is an emotionless performance. It's not wooden, he's not reading lines. If you're going for that style, that detached, intense acting, you shouldn't sound like you're reading lines off the paper.

Like, hell, Sandy Cahill's acting in the original RE4 was the femme fatale played up as a B-movie style character, but you can say a million things about her way of playing Ada...no one is saying 'oh, she's wooden.' Or 'oh, she sounds like she's reading her lines off a script'. You can tell what she's going for, what type of character she is, just by listening.

According to Lily Gao, she's playing this kind, just, intelligent, and funny character. Yet everyone is saying she's some like...subdued secret emotionless character.

Even the voice actor disagrees with that. It's just a terrible performance.

Was this like through a drive thru? I feel like ordering from a drive thru is just a terrible idea. Trying to communicate an order via a shitty speaker to someone who doesnt care is like asking for errors. Plus it contributes to the whole prioritize cars over humans nonsense.

Well it was about 1 AM, only the drive thru was open, I was the only car other than the guy in front of me in the lane, and the receipt said coke.

Yeah, that's why I think cards that do effects to things in your hand should be handled carefully. They don't really have counterplay, and something like Leech can literally obliterate your hand. Any time I get Leech'd with my Apocalypse deck I just retreat lol

He does serve a particular purpose against certain decks, but he's also incredibly unfun to play against. Anything that your opponent can do to affect cards in your hand is pretty dirty.

Scorpion, iceman, moon knight, Leech, they're all varying levels of annoying...

Scorpion and Leech are the most annoying ones because they affect every card, though. They punish you for having a slow start, either because of bad draws or a late-game deck type.

Honestly, scorpion is crazy good. He can be a massive power swing for only two energy, and he still gets 2 power for himself.

He does serve a purpose, but that purpose is extremely busted. Everything should have a counter-play, something that you can throw in a deck that could be useful in more than one situation. For my Destroy deck, I can't just really slot in random cards like Infanaut or something.

Bleh, he needs to be tweaked and not an instant shut down of all decks in the game.
