I mean, Piccolo is spending a lot of time with Pan in Super Hero, he's pretty connected to her. Seems reasonable enough to pair them. In fact, you could argue its MORE accurate to not have her paired with Gohan, since Piccolo is partly babysitting her because Gohan is too busy.

New summon animations with Gohan doing the kamehameha instead of Goku is cool

Oh yeah, the transformations (or lack thereof) are very disappointing

The new Piccolo looks really good at least, even if the transformation is relegated to a giant form.
