The logistical exclusion of trans women from the group known as "women" is straight bigotry, and you know this. Or at least I thought you did.

At the very least, you could provide some justification for why cis women should exclude trans women.

There was a reasonable antagonism already present in the encounter and he was the first to lay hands. There is NO NEED to take chances in these situations with "let's just see where this is going".

AT WORST this is a situation with a series of quick escalations that are ALL justifiable.

Honest opinion, I feel that this is a "bucket list" thing for Miyamoto. We all know how heavy he's been promoting this, and I feel he wanted to at least be able to see his vision of Mario on the big screen before he passes.

What I disagree with is treating something that could be better but is still ultimately a good thing as something altogether horrible because of shitty views of somebody funding it. Do you think it would be better for that shelter to not exist than to exist and not be as inclusive as you want it to be?

The problem is the shelter in question defining exclusive characteristics in order to classify trans women as "not women".

Like accepting women, but not gay women. Doesn't that sound silly to you?

The point of "shelters" is to provide refuge for those who are vulnerable.

The point of a women's shelter is the ability to escape the abusers in their lives, typically men.

If a women's shelter is excluding trans women, then that would be a statement that the trans women are included amongst these potential abusers.

And it sends the message that trans women aren't "woman enough" for their shelter.
