Topic401k up to match > IRA > HSA > 401k > standard investment
IdiotMachine

Easy way to invest for your future- put your money in these following accounts in this priority:
  • 401k up to company match
  • Roth IRA up to limit ($6000)
  • HSA up to limit ($3650), if enrolled in an high deductible health plan
  • 401k up to limit ($19,500)
  • Standard brokerage account

Reasons:
  • 401k up to match because thats literally free money.
  • Roth IRA because you have more flexibility (you can choose your own broker, and you can take out your contributions at any time for any reason with no tax implications; traditional IRAs are not afforded the tax freedom).
  • HSA because its also more flexible to take money out in an emergency, and you can invest any money after a set cash amount (depends on your broker).
  • 401k beyond company match because its tax advantaged.
  • Standard brokerage account last, because it has the most taxes.
Follow this, and pick mutual/index funds, and youll be set for retirement easily.

AirTags uses everyones iPhones to track where it is. For example, if theres an AirTag near you, your iPhone notes it in the background, sends the AirTags location (i.e., your location) to Apples servers using your own data, and Apple sends the AirTag location to the AirTag owners.

Its wild to me that thats just how many iPhones there are to make this system work reliably, compared to shitty android phones.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

I mean laundry, dishwashing, vacuuming, wiping down surfaces, cutting grass, etc., are chores that needs to be done... lol

My wife and I split it based on what takes more physical effort; I basically do all the outdoor work (cutting grass, collecting leaves, taking out the trash, taking care of our pool, shoveling the snow, etc.), she does all the indoor work. I help out occasionally (when we deep clean the house), and she helps out occasionally (when we pull weeds).

So you do everything and receive praise? What am I missing here? That seems appropriate.
In my view, the thing I do for the baby is the bare minimum (being with her, and feeding/changing her on occasion), and I'm getting praise for it. My wife does so much more (spends more time with the baby and pumps milk (this is a HUGE effort that I never appreciated until I saw it)), and nobody gives a shit.

Everything else is just standard shit you gotta deal with anyway (housework).

So...your wife does the cooking and you do everything else. And you're saying the bar for what constitutes a "good dad" is too low
My wife does the following:
  • Full time job,
  • Be with the baby during pediatric visits,
  • Feed her and change her diapers,
  • Pump and produce milk,
  • Housework (e.g., laundry, dishwashing)
  • Cook
I don't feed my baby 100% of the time nor change her 100% of the time; I probably do these 25% of the time or less.

Or they just, you know, work for a living.
I work full time for a living, and I still do things that people say makes me a "good father", which to me is the basic-of-the-basics:
  • Be with my baby during pediatric visits,
  • Feed her and change her diapers,
  • Pick up prescriptions,
  • Housework (e.g., cleaning the house, cutting grass)
Now I don't cook since I suck at cooking; the wife does that one.

As a new father, I noticed this btw. Like seriously just BEING with a baby = you must be a good dad!. Its crazy how low the bar is. Meanwhile, I see my wife doing all sorts of shit and nobody praises her. Like she wakes up every 3 hours to pump, and its just accepted she has to do it; nobody asks how shes recovering from the most traumatic moment in her life (giving birth), everyone asks about the cute baby; etc.

Punished_Blinx posted...

The bar for a good mother is so much higher than the bar for a good father. As a good father, all you have to do is just be with the baby.. change diapers occasionally, feed occasionally, and just be around and BAM!!! Youre a good father. Why is the bar so low?

As a result, Mastronardi rejected the notion that, because they were German, they did not need to adhere to the same tipping expectations as those found in the U.S, arguing that there was a need to "adapt to tipping culture" when visiting as "servers do not make a fair wage" here.

I mean $2 tip is perfectly reasonable in Germany, so they didnt do anything wrong in their eyes. They probably thought they were being scammed if the waitress explained to them youre supposed to tip 25% tbh, if they didnt know about USAs tipping culture.

Back up, he totaled the car...trying to park?
So it was perpendicular parking:
|c|c|c|o|c|
x->

Where "c" = car parked and "o" = empty spot, and "x" = his car with -> the direction of travel.

He tried to make a left into the "o" spot, but he mis-judged the angle, and was on a path to hit the car on the right. Instead of braking, he accelerated and hit the car pretty hard. The repair estimates were like $5k for the Toyota, so insurance just considered it totaled and sent a check for the car's value at ~$3k.

On a serious note getting bad drivers a really small car is basically like rolling the dice on when a truck is going to tbone and massacre them after they run a stop sign
So stop signs and red lights, they still got it. The problem is, my father-in-law (who's the primary driver) now sucks at judging "space" in general. So he has problems parking into spots. This is how he wrecked the Camry- he misjuged the turn radius, and smashed right into another car. Insurance company considered the Camry wrecked, and just gave him a check for like $3k.
