Probably, the first game was pretty good.

Though probably not until it's on sale. Here in Canada it'll be 90$ + tax which will definitely put it over $100 and that's too much for a single game IMO, even if its really good, so I can't justify doing that unless I have to.

While I agree on the whole "**** him" front, his character in That 70s show was very much a burnout who was actually trying to not be the same ****-up that's hes been around forever. And a big reason Hyde didn't (as of the end of That 70s Show) was Red and Kitty, really the only two significant characters from the original series still around. it wouldn't be super in-character for them to be making jokes about how Hyde is a ****-up.

Though it could be cool if they want to get really dramatic, where they could acknowledge Hyde did something horrible, and why none of the parents really want to actually address the topic. Or at least Red and Kitty can if nobody else shows up. A great episode to bring Mila Kunis in for too.

I always liked John Cena, both in his WWE character and as a real person. What I disliked was Vince's booking of Cena in the main event scene.

Hard disagree. Roman in 2014-2018 was superman-pushed way harder and way faster than Cena ever was. Vince gave him main event after main event and even fed him The Undertaker at Wrestlemania and none of it ever got Roman over as a face. He got booed harder than Cena ever did too, to the point where fans even booed The Rock just for helping Roman and raising his hand at the 2015 Rumble.

Roman is only more tolerable in recent years because Vince had the sense to do with Roman what he never did with Cena, and that's turn him heel.

This so much. Nothing Cena ever did came close to the regular heat face Roman got.

Honestly, one of the best moments in WWE history was Cena returning at the 2008 Rumble, getting a big pop, and the fans going "wait, we're supposed to boo him" and then booing him. It certainly didn't help that the other option to a Cena win was a HHH win and nobody wanted that.

A handful of extra minor differences, 4 has different side-character stories you play through depending on the version, and 3 has one swappable boss. other than that Meagan gets "Double Souls" or "Crosses" with the various "friends" he makes along the game which vary between version. IIRC in 3 it was required to trade with the other version to get all the chips, but in none of the later games.

Definitely a pretty minor change. Enough that each version is distinctive, but not enough to really make it worth wanting to play both unless you're a really die-hard MMBN fan.

If you want old-school nature writing, basically anything by Rachel Carson is worth a read. Similarly a Sand County Almanac is another classic.

If you want to go a little tangential, I really liked The Monsanto Papers (Carey Gillam),The Uninhabitable Earth (David-Wallace Wells), Merchants of Doubt (Erik Conway and Naomi Oreskes) and This Changes Everything (Naomi Klein). The latter 3 are purely about climate change, which can sometimes produce books of sketchier quality (though those are usually the "climate change isn't real" side)

If you want to get really tangential, The Immortal Henrietta Lacks basically uses biology as a backdrop for a story about the titled woman, who basically had cells stolen from her that became HeLa cells, the "immortal" cell line that revolutionized cell biology a couple decades ago.

Though I've found wireless earbuds are more likely to **** up over something, they'll have smaller batteries, or some weird connection issue to mean they just never quite work for some reason (I've had issues with Samsung's wireless earbuds, though the Galaxy Buds Live I've had for like 3 years with no problem)

Even with the dumb dialogue choice decisions. Props to her for being able to sell me on jerk Kassandra and nice guy Kassandra in the same scene regardless if it makes sense.

Elden Ring still gets played because it's considered a legitimately phenomenal game.

This was always going to happen. This is what happened with like, Assassins Creed Valhalla, The REmakes, The Quarry, etc...

Its silly to pretend that Hogwarts Legacy behaving the way you would typically expect given gaming trends towards single player games is some kind of slight against it.

I don't think there's necessarily a problem with just retiring the term, though it would need to be replaced with something else. And the video's suggestion of "turn-based" RPG isn't bad, though then there are some iffy ones in there. Though "Character-Driven" or "Narrative" RPGs are just bad.

There are multiple types of RPG for a reason, and the people who like Final Fantasy 7 won't necessarily like Dark Souls, just because they're both RPGs. I get wanting to change the name because the J can be misleading, but it still serves a useful purpose to explain a certain type of RPG and needs to stick around in some sense.

And this might be recency bias, but "JRPG" doesn't mean "RPG from Japan" its a very specific style of RPG. and is subject to whatever random trends the larger gaming community goes through. Of ****ing course Undertale is a JRPG. And like every other genre, it'll be subjected to whatever whims of the community think is cool at that moment. Open-World collect-a-thon Action games are ****ing everywhere right now, and most of them suck. But that's the cool thing right now so they'll be made until they aren't popular anymore.

All the important plot points are about Joel and Ellie's conflicts with other people, the zombies are in the game to add some extra gameplay and be the setting and that's it. And that's something the show doesn't need. That's not to say they couldn't have been used more, but like, they don't actually matter that much.

The important things the zombies did in the game were also in the show, it just turns out that the only plot-relevant things the zombies did were A) Infecting Tess, and B) Infecting Sam.

It's poor value to pay a subscription fee just for most of your library to be temporary and give you even worse value when you want to play DLC. You're ALWAYS better off just buying the games you want individually.

Absolutely not. There are countless games on Gamepass that would fall under the category of "not worth the price, but definitely a good game". That game you'll play for maybe 10-15 hours, but once you finish you put it down and never pick it up again.

Definitely a good game, but will that game be worth $40, $50, $60? Probably not, especially if there are also a dozen other available games that fall into the same category. With a $15/month sub fee, you can play all of them instead of waiting a year or more for them to like, show up at a used game story, maybe for a more reasonable price.
