America-Style lagers (which a lot of popular American beers are, such as Budweiser) are served ice cold because that is what their flavor profile best suits.
German lagers are designed to be drunk more warm, about 35 to 50 Fahrenheit, and their flavor profile is similarly designed to be drunk at that temperature.
Ales should be around 55 degrees Fahrenheit
And Gluhbier is best served 158 Fahrenheit

The no killing rule served a purpose back in the day but I don't think it's realistic for someone like Batman to have a Vash the Stampede like ability at subduing opponents without ever using lethal force in the heat of the moment. Executions in cold blood are the real line he shouldn't cross.

Batman doesn't have "heat of the moment" moments. Everything is planned, and further planned. Really, he's basically a Heist movie in a superhero shape. You thought, that was enough? You fool, you didn't know about my Plan Z(a)(i).

Do people not realize how unbelievably pathetic and dangerous this is?

Pathetic because they themselves are nothing and dangerous because homeless really don't have anything to lose in beating the tar shit out of them.

You've not been around homeless, I guess? The homeless have a lot to lose from "breaking", the authorities will be on your ass in a heartbeat, in some countries they're just waiting for an excuse to get you out of the area (and in others they don't even need an excuse).
If you think the poor are disenfranchised, then the homeless might as well not have an enfranchise and people, including the authorities will know it, and if you think they cut corners when dealing with poor, they cut whole sheets of paper when dealing with the homeless.

No, in real-life it's why everyone's "family tree" is more like a "family gnarled roots".
Everyone's family tree suffers from pedigree collapse, inbreeding is the name of the game in humanity, let me demonstrate:
Let's have a single individual, who is alive today would, over 30 generations going back to the High Middle Ages, would have 2^30 ancestors or roughly 1 billion ancestors, more than the total world population at the time. However, if inbreeding occurred, then there's no need for those 1 billion ancestors.
Anyone alive today -- it's impossible for your family tree to not be incesteous, the numbers cannot lie.
TopicWhy are glasses associated with intelligence?
coolguyjimmy
04/18/23 6:15:02 PM

It dates back to the Middle Ages, when monks used glasses to study despite declining vision. Monks were learned fellows, and also this corresponded with another myth at the time that reading in dim light would damage your vision, thus the belief that someone who read all the time=worse vision.
Thus the more learned a man was, the worse his vision would be.

Also, glasses do extend the studying/researching lifetime of geniuses, as poor vision does not make for good experiments.

Uhhh.... Feeding your animals "people food", if what you mean by that sentence is what humans usually eat is not necessarily bad, nor abuse.

Creme Puff (38 years old) and Oldman (34 years old) were two cats raised by Jack Perry who stated their longetivity was due to their diet.

"Creme Puff's owner, Jake Perry, said her diet consisted of dry cat food supplemented with broccoli, eggs, turkey bacon, coffee with cream, andevery two days"an eyedropper full of red wine"."

"The results of Tuesdays presidential election came as a surprise to nearly everyone who had been following the national and state election polling, which consistently projected Hillary Clinton as defeating Donald Trump. Relying largely on opinion polls, election forecasters put Clintons chance of winning at anywhere from 70% to as high as 99%, and pegged her as the heavy favorite to win a number of states such as Pennsylvania and Wisconsin that in the end were taken by Trump.

How could the polls have been so wrong about the state of the election?"
