Why should we wait for some better time?
There may not even be a tomorrow.

Without knowing how bad inflation and other potential problems for the future may become, this is really just a shot in the dark.

I don't have a figure, but I'm retiring early, at 30.

Some amount where I can put a big chunk into investment, and while it builds up, live off the rest. So like 5 million? Bring out 1 milli for now, and save the rest and allow to grow?

Truth be told we could retire already pretty easily, but we're going to wait until our younger twins start college.

I answered truly as minimum needed, so I said 500k. I would of course like more.

I could feasibly live the rest of my life here on a $500k investment, but not without lowering my standard of living.

$5 million would definitely be enough for me to retire immediately.

on $2.5 million I might work a few more years and retire at 40.
