Water rides were all closed for the season. Windseeker famously broke down several times at Knotts and that puts it a bit beyond my risk level.

Power Tower is too similar to Supreme Scream at Knotts for time investment.

There was this horse derby thing that was a unique take on a carousel. Moved relatively quick for no restraints.

But most everything else was just a carnival off the shelf ride so no real need.

Maverick to Steel Vengeance.

Fucking fantastic day.

Front > back.

It is so tall the feel of the descent isn't much different front to back but the sense of weightlessness at the top of various hills throughout is heightened at the front of the train.

Millennium Force is also the only ride of note where ride ops has sacrificed row distribution to chaos.

K Millenium Force was a winner. Great sense of speed, size, and scale. Whole train seems to be into it every time.

Rougarou pretty standard mid tier coaster. Nothing particularly special just a bit of a theme of accelerating into most of its manuevers.

Millenium Force is the last real big coaster I have on the list.

So Hang Time has this cool pull down effect with the dive whereas Valravn just kind of lets gravity do its thing. Without the accelerated dive the initial start is a bit underwhelming and i definitely feel like the dive is the highlight of a dive coaster. Valravn trades this out for an exaggerated stall on an inversion and a second mini dive.

But I have this one down as a clear winner for Knotts and Hang Time.

Yeah just grabbed a burger didn't want to lose ride time but figured calorie intake was good.

Rain has calmed down hoping we can get in an hour or two of operation.

Waiting by Valravn. I know dive coasters are the new hotness but it doesn't look significantly different from Hang Time at Knotts. Interested in riding for the comparison more than anything.

Definitely bug spray holy crap.

Also lesson learned if i ever make a return trip: bug spray.

Everything is back up and running(RIP Raptor). But i committed to lunch with the break.

Probably a good thing.

These clouds were possible in the forecast then out of the forecast yesterday but now they may be here the rest of the day.

Blue Streak feels very well cared for. I expected a bumpy ride but got a very smooth experiment. Definite recommended.

Looks like weather is temporarily shutting a few things down right now. Some precarious looking clouds above.

Wanted to hop on Valravn right after.

Went on Gatekeeper. Smooth ride but after the cool little twist at the start is fairly generic.

We have a more interesting take on the wing coaster at magic mountain(there is an extra axis on each vehicle) so a little lackluster in comparison.

Nope. Waiting for Epic Universe to open to head back to Orlando.

Gemini had a cool communal feel, everyone high fiving across and stuff.

Maverick>SV>Gemini>Magnum so far.

Magnum is the definition of rough. Thats a one and done. Going to leave many bruises.

Fuck that sold me i want rerides i just spent too much money.

Line for Maverick has basically doubled since i got here. Think i beat all but the early entry people.

Also sad times Raptor indeed down for the whole day. Generally one of my favorite coaster types too. Think they provide a really smooth ride.

It is a little bit crowded.

Looks like i made it here in way less time than anticipated.

Hershey has basically turned into a mini Cedar Point at this point. It's awesome and has all types of wild coasters.

Stopped by Hershey for a short time earlier this year but got cut completely short by the smoke. Need to make a return trip at some point.

The concept had existed for awhile but hadn't been utilized with much success(horrible, horrible pain).

Learning how to ride each coaster is underrated and probably impossible as an infrequent visitor on a busy day.

Yeah this is definitely a thing. It takes 3 to 5 rides to kind of grasp head positioning and weather you need to relax or try to hold into a specific position. And the big thing is whether to keep your head back or if a slight lean forward is preferable.

When I went in 2003, Raptor was my favorite coaster. I was lucky to ride that one twice because everything else was a 2-hour wait.

Millennium Force was great but didn't live up to the massive hype. Magnum XL-200 was good. I think I rode Mantis and loved it, but my memory's shaky.

Top-Thrill Dragster (at that point the fastest/highest coaster on Earth) was shut down that day due to some knucklehead injuring himself after sticking his hands in the air.

I really want to go back someday. Awesome theme park.

Raptor hasn't been opened for a couple days at least not counting on it.

Top thrill dragster has a smaller variant at knotts that had to close after the incident with TTD. Both should be reopening next year.

I used to be pretty scared of roller coasters when I was a kid but something changed in my brain when I was like 12. I think I realized that all I had to do was just sit down.

It's not like I'm jumping out of a plane or bungee jumping, just have to be brave enough to sit down.

Safety record for coasters is extremely good. Safety is in fact first priority to making sure guests keep flowing in.

Once you realize that and then get enthralled by how cool it is that we made coasters that can do all this cool shit they are an easy sell.

Older coasters are cool! Ride the Gemini, its a unique experience.

Of all things im looking to ride Corkscrew is high on my list. It is a clone of an old coaster at Knotts removed before i was old enough to ride or really remember.

If youre getting there at opening, start in the back and work your way to the front. Youll be working opposite the masses.

Yeah im curious as to the actual scale of the park. This can determine how much it is actually worth it to walk at opening hours when lines are shortest.

I am prepared to forgo lunch to hit every coaster if i have to.

Well, I would normally say to do them anyway because roller coasters rule, but I'm saying this because there are SO MANY roller coasters there, and you'll be pressed for time to go on all of the better ones, so I would prioritize those!

I still regret not being able to go on that new wooden hybrid coaster they just built because we wasted time with the older ones.

How crunched exactly should i expect time to be?
