Its not hard journalism but yes you are reporting. You are asking questions and getting answers or not and reporting those to the broadcast. You cant just make things up. The things she fabricated were so benign and so droll it wasnt noticed. Still isnt right.So you just really don't understand what their job is and how it works. If they actually reported back what was said they'd be fired. That's not what they are there for. I'm serious. You really just don't get it. Well I find making up quotes and reporting them ethically problematic for a journalist.But...it's not journalism, is the point I'm making. It literally isn't. We're talking about random platitudes that for some reason they think we need to hear during the game. "The coach said we need to be dialed in on third downs" is not adding anything to the game for me. But that's what the producers want. This isn't real news. They aren't writing any articles. This is a nothing story. They tried to make it a thing like 2 years ago and it amounted to nothing. They are drumming it up again. The players and coaches have media availability, and they are obligated to do those, and we rarely have an instant when they don't do the meeting before the game. She's talking about during the game when you try to talk to a coach after a bad quarter/half. Or after a series that's just not clicking. Some coaches are fine with whatever. Some are not. There is a reason not a single coach or player has come out and said "That's BS, I never said that to her!" Because she doesn't make things up for no reason or to make them look bad. She even mentioned how some coaches are complete garbage people(my words not hers) and they just say something sexist, so instead of throwing them under the bus she makes up some generic lines, or gives her own insights instead of saying "He suggested I meet him in his hotel room."
