Words like "the" only get capitalized when

Someone does not know any better
When it is the first word in the subject title
When it is done for emphasize as in "The Pooh"

~Both of my Grandfathers had guns, one for hunting, and on my mother's side it was more for collecting as he had had a stroke by the time I was born. They both instilled the seriousness of guns in me at a young age. To the point that my Moms Dad called my brothers and eye out for play shooting with play guns. He really ingrained it into me that you never point a gun at someone...even if it's not real, out of respect for the firearm.
