Well, since you didnt reply, and have no idea what your stance is on high school relationships, Ill share mine.

As a kid I didnt think anything of it, and have to imagine kids today have a similar mentality. As a father (of a daughter), Id definitely prefer kids date around their own age.

In general, Id support a school policy that states there can only be a one year difference for high school relationships. I am not sure how that would be enforced outside of the school monitoring /segregating school functions. However, Id vote for it nonetheless.

Id probably disuade my daughter from dating anyone outside her own grade to be honest. Her mother would probably fight me on that and Id lose but damnit Id try. I know what that college kid has on his mindand it aint prom

I got curious so I did a Google and found this article on Slate.com

Boys and girls in the same grade account for about 42 percent of relationships, while older boys dating younger girls make up 40 percent of high-school relationships, and older girls dating younger boys make up 18 percent.

And who does the high-school dating system disadvantage most, statistically? Senior girls, at least according to the skew between stated sexual preferences and actual sexual activity. Though that will undoubtedly come as cold comfort to those legions of lonely 14-year-old boys.

I assume that senior girls are statistically low because the study only measured relationships where both parties went to the same school, so if they were dating college guys, then it wouldnt have factored into the study.

Not my school. The entire football team for instance. In general it seems to be common practice for girls want to date older, and for men to date younger.

I remember it being tough to get a girlfriend as an underclassmen because they all dated the grades above them.

Even as a senior it was difficult to date someone your own age because they dated college age dudes.

Even a senior dating a sophomore is looked down upon.

I went to ASU, and it was pretty common place for the incoming male freshman to still have girlfriends attending high school, and the incoming female freshman to have had chosen ASU because their boyfriends went there.

I cant speak for your schools, but that was definitely how it worked at mine. As a teenager you dont really notice these things. I certainly never gave it any attention.

Seniors in high school date freshman. If they stay together, then at some point they are a senior in college dating a senior in high school.

My prom had a wild age range because, due to this reason, they let 23 year olds attend prom.

So you had at least 100 girls dating college age guys, and 100 guys dating freshman age girls. So technically you had groups of Prom parties riding in limos that had 23 year old men, and 14 year old girls in it.

Seems weird now, but at the time it was just the normal progression of things. Even I was guilty of it.

When I was a senior in high school I dated a few freshman girls, so I was 17 and they were 14, then I turned 18 and they turned 15, but occasionally there would be some overlap. When I was 22 I started dating an 18 year old I had met at a frat party, and I assumed was attending the university, but turns out she was still in high school.

Its really not that uncommon.

Edit: There are some areas of the United States that have no middle school. Usually for population/funding reasons. To my understanding it goes K-7, and 8-12. In which case that prom night example can get even more sketch.

I played community college football and we won the NJCAA championship. Which led to many of us getting individual scholarships, and mine was to ASU.

I quickly learned that Juco Football is a team sport full of subpar athletes whose ability to work together overcome their individual deficiencies, and DI Football is full of superhero level athletes that a couch is desperately trying, and usually failing to get to work together.

Lost my scholarship pretty quickly and transitioned to the wrestling team.

I got my schedule mixed up this year. As such I was out 3,000 for the burning man tickets I purchased after last years festival.

Couldnt even sell them at a discount. Only thing I was able to sell was my vehicle permit.

I worked with Linus once in 2016. A client wanted their desk bike to be reviewed. It was a work desk that doubled as an excercise bike. Because Linus didnt also show that it could be used as a standing desk, the client demanded a refund. Linus rightfully said no, so then the company demanded Linus not upload the video. So he never did, and got paid to do nothing.

The client then paid Mathias to do the same thing, and he also forgot to show it could be used as a standing desk, so he edited it with an out of place quick cut to show it. Needless to say the client was pissed again.

In 2016 Linus was charging 12k for a video, while Mathias was charging 30k.

Took that on Spring Break in Lake Havasu after I won a MMA tournament against a bunch of out of shapes dudes wearing T-Shirts, and ponytails ties with bandannas. The giant trophy was a babe magnet for the rest of the week.

My last company encouraged people to put pronouns in their email signature. There was a list of required info you had to include, and optional info that was suggested. However, if you made a signature that checked all the boxes then you got entered into a drawing to win a gift card. To qualify you had to put them in your company slack username as well.

Well, she likes anime. That said, I've told her to watch THE iDOLM@STER anime. It didn't work, but I started watching it myself, since I like my idols. The anime she likes are all so different, it's difficult to pick something. She likes Haikyuu!!, Attack on Titan I think it's called?, Hyouka. It's super
hard to pick something like so, plus, everything I try to recommend, she has already seen it! If I am the videogame person, she is the anime person. Neither of us really is a fan of movies or anything that has acting.

I know I make it sound like she is the most difficult person to have fun with, but I actually quite like that from her. I did suggest to her to come here to the house to spend a day, or vice-versa, but I told her I would have to wait until sunday or monday since they are my days off. I am not expecting a yes, but let's see what happens.

Anime is great, because it takes forever to finish. Me and my girl just finished Demon Slayer (I wasn't really into it) but it seemed as if it took two weeks for us to get through just causally watching.

I have to imagine that if you both decide to binge an entire season, that you'd essentially be spending 12-16 hours cuddling up on the bed/couch. That's your greatest chance of it leading to a sleepover anyhow.

Dating apps are completely useless, there aren't any locations for meetups where I live (bars are overtaken by middle age conservatives and I'm Hispanic). The only locations where I can meet up is.. gym I guess? Yet, every woman there has a BF already.

Overall, it's hard for me and it's not my biggest goal. Sucks for my buddies too. My friend can only find dates in TJ and only get single moms. Yet, he finds it impossible to find a "American date" lmao.

Well, to my surprise, I managed to get a date with someone who rather spend their entire day sheltered in a room, so I was quite surprised she said yes to one date at all.

I don't expect another one, but we do end up talking daily. I myself am not a guy that likes to go outside either, so, I'm not really rushing a second date.

Wouldnt the solution be to just go over to eachothers places?

When Covid hit the dating apps started adding a FaceTime like feature to video call your matches so you didnt have to violate quarantine protocols to have dates with strangers.

Its terrible. Unfortunately, some people have gotten so comfortable with the set up that its now their default choice for a first date they cite safety reasons, and that could be true, but mostly its just for convenience sake to weed out unattractive people.

It might be a legitimate starting point for someone with social anxiety, to get ones feet wet in the dating scene, but beyond that Id recommend against it.

Being interesting is important. But not at the sake of normal. Honestly, someone could go to a date and barely talk so long as they ask questions, their date is talkative, and they listen. Thats almost like a cheat code for people who struggle with charisma and extroversion

The above video is parody but it represents a very real problem that lonely, introverted, internet denizens have when finally taking a chance on themselves, and going out into the real world for an actual physical datethey simply dont act normal.

Look, it might seem like Im being cruelbut I legit am happy for anyone that makes an attempt to get out into the real world and make it happen its just that I need to drive home the point that the number one thing to keep in mind is act normal

With great emphasis on the word act because you dont just suddenly adapt to society, and soak all of the mainstream social taboos just by strolling out into the sunlight.

Ive observed so many disaster stories from CEmen claiming that theyve given it a shot, and it turned out so terrible that its given them something akin to PTSD, and now will no longer try. They use it as sb excuse to just give up.

The thing is that CEmen have somehow got it stuck in their heads that they need to be themselves and that their date should like them for who they are and although thats ultimately true if long term relationships (with compromise) its not the case for first impressions.

You dont go talking about your mental disorders (especially if self diagnosed), your virginity, or weird nerd hobbies. You just try and behave like a normal human being. What does that actually mean, well that varies from person to person depending upon where your personality and social awareness currently stands, but in a nutshell, your goal is simply to get a second date. Nothing more. Nothing less.

So knowing shes going to probably go tell her friends about your date, dont say or do anything thats going to cause their friends to cringe and bring up red flags. If its not something youd bring up to a complete stranger while in line at the DMV to renew your license, then dont say it in your first date!

Dont give up. Just use common sense. Be normal. Thats the key. ACT NORMAL

How about this but for twitch?

I tried and failed marketing influencers on Twitch. The platform is just so hands on. It relies on a lot of human intervention and not just automatic algorithms. You actually have to have some talent (not at games, but at being entertaining) to make it over there.

Or you know, just an atttactive girl that plays video games. For females Twitch behaves alot more like Insta & TikTok than it does YouTube. However, for men it behaves just like YouTube but without the algorithm cheating.

If you have any friends with large Twitch channels the biggest growth hack is to just collaborate.

I took his question seriously. Even know it wasnt a serious topic. But if someone wants to grow and market a channel its a lot of work. That laundry list of boring shit you need to do, like keeping up with SEO is exacerbating.

However, if you put in the work it is in your control. Yea YouTube could ban you at a whim, but until they do, you can work the algo to your advantage. But dont get it twisted. It is totally a job.

Ya know, half of a fight is knowing when to throw a punch. I know Brock Lesnars fighting ability. I know he'd beat the shit out of me, so I would try to avoid conflict. Its how society has conditioned us. Guys (for obvious reasons) shouldnt hit women, and because of the dangers associated with male on female violence as opposed to the reverse, thats the point society has concentrated into drilling into our minds since an early age.

As such some women will just assume that the man isnt going to hit them back. Because men have been told not too (for good reason) and some women will take advantage of that knowledge.

In many domestic abuse cases where women are the agressors its because they know the personality of the men they are attacking, and are confident that their wont be any physical recourse coming their way. Theyd be way less likely to attack a male stranger of whos personality they can not gauge.

Society could concentrate on equalizing the message when it comes to physical abuse, as all assault is wrong. But just speaking as generally as I can, male to female violence is significant more danger than the reverse. So, if have to choose one to pool more of societys collective resources into eliminatingthats the one.

I personally think it should be this way. Male on female domestic abuse can lead to (and often does) death. Very rarely is that the case on the reverse. Typically for a woman to inflict death upon a man its not with her bare hands, but with a weapon. In which case its no longer domestic abuse, its calculated murder.

Both are awful, but if our education resources need to be spent combatting and raising awareness for oneits a no contest.
