That game was the culmination of everything I found bad about Froms titles anyway and a confirmation for me that other Soulslikes understood the genre way better. Started going downhill with Artorias DLC.

I honestly don't think the game benefitted from being a big open world. "But it doesn't hold your hand with map markers! Environmental story telling!" Ok, I can get that in other games, even other Souls games. I don't see how it redefines the entire concept just because it's not assaulting your senses like a Ubisoft map.

If the Grammys handled game awards, the winners every year would be whatever game sold the most and whichever sequels have the most brand power. As long as a came wasn't Gollum or Kong bad, it would have a shot. It would basically be the Spike VGAs.

It's also a really weird conspiracy where these publications heavily advertised the game, posted numerous articles and walkthroughs on the game, gave it mostly good reviews, but then decided to cancel it by not giving it some token nomination in a random category at award shows. Why didn't they just pan it from the beginning? Or... give it 9s and 10s and then snub it at awards shows.

Or would you say they gave it 7s and 8s just so they could have plausible deniability when it got no nominations (which is the standard most games of that quality receive)? Did they forget that the chuds would never forget the game?

I think you don't understand how many games are in the mid to low 80s on Metacritic.

That's not how fucking awards work. This isn't second grade. We don't give Valentine's Day cards to everyone so the quiet kid doesn't feel sad.

Please shut the fuck up already and keep your opinions to yourself. It's not top 5 in anything, so no one fucking cares that it reviewed fine and sold good. It doesn't matter that Baldur's Gate or Alan Wake have nominations they don't "need". Hogwarts Legacy is a game that has no legacy. It's a solid game, but nothing about it stands out and it won't be remembered as an all time classic.

Also, the Grammys are the most bullshit awards out there. An album will come out to middling reviews and be seen as the worst in an artist's catalog, but it will win because of the name behind it. The pop awards are the only ones that even show a semblance of awareness from the voters. They didn't nominate Hogwarts Legacy because they played a bunch of video games this year and were blown away by how much better the music was than any other.

I'm doubting that you've even played many games this year. And you have a lot to say for someone who doesn't think Hogwarts deserves awards and totally wasn't emotionally invested in the controversy via your political views.

I'd ask if these cops have anything fucking better to do, but then I think of all the other things cops could be doing

If I was running TGA Hogwarts wouldn't be listed but neither would 50% of the games there. The inconsistency in token appreciation for similar non-yearly triple A games but nothing for Hogwarts is what's being noticed here.

So every AAA game that isn't Call of Duty has a nomination? And the fact that more than like 8 games have any recognitions at all proves there's an agenda against HL?

Like, it has the clear references such as lodge rooms that look exactly like Coop's at the Great Northern. But it also has similar story beats to The Return and just has that kind of presentation and tone throughout. AW2 has a lot more internal monologuing.

Now you know whether or not this is a game for you.

Sure, I dont disagree. Even one death can be traumatic for the victim obviously and their loved ones. That said, theres a numbers game being played by some very vocal persons, not just on CE, and it comes across as disingenuous and questionable to begin with, and theres no point in pretending we dont see it.

But are there thousands of them? Because Israel claims they have killed over 10,000 terrorists. They're only considered civilians if they survive their injuries.
