KCF has beaten UnMetal

Despite owning every unepic_fran game, this is only the second one (Mini Ghost) that I have beaten before. I would say that it is his best one. Boss battles were whatever, and the pacing was all over the place, but this is a very fun homage to NES-era top-down stealth games. Despite saying that I own each of his games, I wouldn't say that was by design. However, I would now be on the lookout for his next game if there is/will be one.

I'm up to the sixth chapter in UnMetal. Some sections are a slog in recent chapters (avoiding the runners in Ch. 5 and the jungle navigation in Ch. 4), but generally the game has been pretty snappy and has avoided a lot of the cheap tricks/poor design choices that plagued similar games in the 80s and 90s games. Having full directional shooting is all I really would have wanted thus far.

KCF has beaten Mass Effect 2

It's easier for me to talking about the faults I have with games than aspects I have strong positive feelings for. I have never been much of a sci-fi aficionado, but something about Mass Effect has always clicked with me. Mass Effect 2 has the best cast in the trilogy, but it has always been my least favorite of the trilogy, and this third playthrough of it continued to reinforce that feeling.

It being just an elongated interlude that could have just as easily been scrapped is certainly a major reason. Recruit people, then gain their loyalty, and do a handful of missions about collectors, and that's the game. It's all the other stuff where the game shines.

I dislike the majority of stamina systems because they seem to be arbitrary and inconsistently implemented (sure you can run or jog to your heart's content, but think again if you want to swing your blade or roll around more than twice in succession).

So the first time I beat it, I found the post-game cleanup to be daunting and not worth attempting because the map couldn't zoom in enough to be overly helpful. I made sure to do more when going through it this second time.. What I had left required me to do some bad slug explosion jumping stuff, so I called it there at around 90% complete. I really think games like this and Dandara should scale back the collectibles due to how you navigate the world.

Anyway, my feelings for this are pretty much the same as they were before. It isn't quite what I was hoping for, but it was a fun, light-hearted adventure

A couple chapters into UnMetal, and this is probably my favorite from unepic_fran. I do wish there were fewer interruptions though.

I'm getting pretty far into Mass Effect 2. I have completed just about all of the loyalty missions and DLC, leaving pretty much only the main stuff. It was always my least favorite of the trilogy (1 > 3 > 2, but all are excellent games) because it just felt like a giant interlude with temporary squadmates, as well as as a bunch of more minor things that add up, and I'm largely feeling the same way.
