Every state is thick with "blue collar and rural types". Hell, like I said, I live in New York, and I have absolutely driven through areas where electricity and indoor plumbing are a scarcity. However, ask the average person what New York is known for, and it is that city that accounts for <1% of the land area and >40% of the population.The reality is that Maine is a decidedly middle class state. Average household income puts it squarely in the middle of the pack looking at all 50 states, too. This website is about stereotyping appearance and if you were to drive around the state you'd see a lot of beards and "rustic" clothing, meaning that AI image is closer to what a typical Mainer looks like, as you'll see a lot less button-down shirts and "yuppie" wear traveling about. As I mentioned, the image in that article looks like a couple homeless people, which I agree isn't typical of an average Maine resident, but that general look is closer than what a "yuppie" image would be for your average Maine resident. Suffice to say, I don't know what that person's motivations are for being there, and I am not gonna confront the dude unless they're putting my kid in direct danger, but I can guarantee you it would set off a red flag for me if there was a grown man hanging out in a playground with no kids of their own. Maybe they're just resting. Maybe they're reading a book. Maybe they're confused and in a fugue state.
