trying real hard not to let my confirmation bias win but it has been very strange that ulti generally responds to suspicions against him, yet on 3 occasions i have made specific comments about his behavior and they have gone completely ignored. no witty reply, no explanation, no acknowledgement. he has responded to me at times, but i feel like the specific posts he has avoided are the ones where i actually highlighted valid points against him.

i'm too lazy to go through and get those posts but my uncle works at nintendo and said that the posts exist

While I think there is a plethora of reasons to vote Ulti at this moment in time I dont think he should be voted for his reaction there. While a bit overzealous I think it ultimately came from a protective place.

He is doing his normal I will have the last laugh but its not being directed at the scumteam. Theres usually much more taunting of the notional scumteam itself. Hes a bit more on the back foot than normal, admittedly, but it was even missing early

This is the point. If the traits work the way I think they work, I DO NOT THINK Red was told that. I think it is far more likely a Miller in this game would have got a passive trait that says something like, "wow everyone always thinks you're a monster, even though you're the protagonist of your own story, tee hee!"

That's why I've made 7+ posts bolding the word explicit because that's the key component in this mess.

I hate this kind of analysis because the only way to properly question your theory is to ask you what your traits are or cross-reference with my own and divulge. Your thoughts on red are premised on information you shouldnt share and which we shouldnt be asking you about.

So while I appreciate where you are coming from, the discussion is a fucking minefield of trying to avoid people talking about their roles lest they give up too much.

I dont think you meant to benefit scum or are scum by bringing it up, but until we have a flip its a very risky angle. Too much ambiguous information right now.

I have literally justified it all in previous posts that I'm too lazy to reiterate while phone posting at lunch. I have a long post about Ulti's behavior and how I read him as mostly reaction testing until several days into the game. I think his behavior even now with the frenzied role discussion fits into that. He's happy to create chaos and see what comes from it. I talked about Sultan's behavior earlier, and was the only person to give him a town leaning when multiple people were suspecting him earlier in the day. I've had MULTIPLE posts about how I'm struggling with your alignment, and getting my personal frustrations involved. All of this is literally in the game if you just look back through the last topic.

Incredibly lazy to say I have no proper justification. It's what I've been saying the whole day, and finally putting action with a vote saying I'm not happy with any of the three directions.

I like this post from Dumey. Honestly Ive just liked most of what Ive seen from Dumey this morning.

Very okay with the Brohan pressure, though Im sure this is probably like, setting us up to b8 special red today or something after waiting 4 hours for brohan to show up

not sure how to interpret Ulti. Id be more inclined to think he was actually town missing the point of his role as opposed to scum weaponizing false incompetence if we didnt have crescent and FD arguing about traits for the first 100 posts of this topic (which Ulti explicitly called good play from FD???). happy with my vote staying there for now.

sultan/crescent seems like nothing of value being added and I think everyone should go take a 10 minute walk but I do think the wording of sultans post at #406 saying Crescent is so paranoid I caught her strikes me as very out of place. its like theres a perspective slip in there somewhere but I cant put my finger on it. like, what did sultan catch crescent on while crescent is the one allegedly catching sultan? Weird.

Now whether FD has 1 or 2 or 3 abilities I dont think he needs to answer.

I just dont think he dies on this hill if hes coming from the same perspective as Crescent (ie if he had only one trait hed get what she meant)

but honestly I dont want FD to comment because any response at all has the potential to suggest something to scum with respect to his role/traits, just my observation

so here is my attempt to follow what has happened

crescent is power who only got one trait, her action. crescent struggled to appreciate multiple traits because:

fd has multiple traits, at least one of which is useless or vanilla-suggestive, the other is not (I dont see why he gets so hung up on this if this isnt the case) so he didnt appreciate that he was getting annoyed with crescent because she didnt have the same information as he did to figure out how traits work

Peaf gives me irked there is not enough scumhunting happening here, my time is being wasted vibes which I dig

I do think its kind of funny that FD noted that I didnt have thoughts on a number of people. The people I didnt comment on happen to be most of the people that FD also said I have no thoughts on you but he just listed and said as much.

Tldr - Ben was correct that i missed something when i was reading earlier, and i had two trailing lines of thought about it when i went back and found it.

Perhaps it was better to leave that in the notes and just do "oh yeah thanks for pointing that out, Ben". But i didn't. I saw two situations where scum Ben would do that, so i posted about them.

So in going back to find the aforementioned Ben mention of Mario - which, how did death and i both manage to not see that interaction - I found this post, which I again don't like from ben. Sultan was lynched on a d2 special. I remember it clearly because i was part of the train, and he was afk at end of day, and he was LITERALLY MARIO.

I don't fault Sultan for not remembering that game clearly. You could all very easily tell me about super obvious things that I've completely forgotten. So I'm trying not to read too hard into this. But it could definitely be funny business, making conversation for the sake of it to appear active and not actually contribute anything, if they're both scum.

If ben is scum and sultan is town, i can interpret this as ben wanting to show Sultan that:
1. You think i am playing like X to you because you think i am scum
2. Last time i was scum and you were town, i did Y
3. X is not Y, therefore you shouldn't think I'm scum

I have this paranoia about ben because i remember Kirby once making an offhand remark about how Ben is talented at changing his play style from scum game to scum game.

I naturally his pressure on Wallz (acknowledging it wasnt logic I would have committed a vote with) but also agree with some critiques of him. ulti has allegedly townlocked 4 people based off of *checks notes* having the same reaction to something. it's a town tell for the first person at best, the rest are just dust in the wind because at that point any doubt scum may have thought of that reaction is gone. he seems more like a pantomime of ulti as opposed to actual ulti, not the biggest fan.

i actually don't mind dumey asking red for more details, it's kind of ballsy and i like the way that he backed it up with logic in the form of an actual callback instead of it just being arbitrary. dumey's in my town camp. welcome, dumey. i will not be joining in trying to procure the same details because quite frankly i share crescent's criticism of the reasoning but i don't think it makes him scum.
