The announcement was made during the World Championships so it was targeted more towards competitive VGC players. The return of Incineroar is a big deal.

The Pokemon World Championship are happening right now. During the opening ceremony they said some of the games would have an additional announcement during the closing ceremony so that's something to watch out for. Generally these aren't very big announcements and are something along the line of a new Pokemon or move.

Estimated time for the closing ceremonies is Aug 13 1am PDT / 4am EDT. But, strictly speaking they occurs after VGC finals end so the time can vary:

That seems weird to me.

I forget which game it was but there was a player who was hiding their hands inside a box. The commentators said this was because they normally played while facing their opponent so it was to hide their hands. But, I don't think it does much when players are sitting side by side. Maybe the sweater thing is for similar reasons.

i kind of doubt they'd be focusing on something like pmd or let's go at this time, a second legends game could be in production or it might not really be since i'm pretty sure game freak is mostly depending on monolith at this point to make their games run remotely well and they're either free or working on totk dlc, either way it's prob a year off minimum so i doubt it's here either

I don't think Monolith Soft worked on any of the Pokemon games.

I wouldn't really call the first game a flop. Nickelodeon was apparently very happy with the sales numbers and even green lit a higher budget sequel.
