Not just a bad move. Escalation of the situation and outright fucking evil.

It was an evil choice, because he understands that he's putting her in a more dangerous situation.

It's not really doing that. It creates far, far, far less risk to others than him getting in the way creates.

You see that she had disregard for the police officer life.
Now that's a false narrative.

The narrative you and plenty of people here carry that the detainees have no burden or obligation to comply and help de escalate the situation and the cops are the only one to require to do so and thus perpetuate the idea of " you don't need to comply because the cops will kill you anyway."
Cops should have literally, literally, literally 99% of the responsibility. Position of power must come with higher standards

I definitely respect what Mark Cuban is doing with perscription drugs. And I really respects that he admits he thinks it will ultimately be a profitable business, and doesn't deny that selfishness plays as much of a role as altruism. But he's doing good here.

That doesn't mean he's a good person overall though. He didn't get there by being decent.

As an authority figure he assumes significantly more responsibility and should be held to a much, much, much, much, much, much higher standard. His actions were wrongful. Regardless of what she did, his actions were wrongful. He should not have done that. He escalated the situation, which was wrong. If he had taken more appropriate actions, she and her offspring would be alive. He is evil.

I'd kind of like to try this one.
It really looks like the kind of game where you tolerate a lot of cutscenes and talking on the first go because it's fun, but then when it's maxed out it's hard to revisit.
Like Colosseum though, it's different and being offbeat has kept me revisiting Colosseum for two decades, so I want to give it the benefit of the doubt.
The cutscenes are pretty heavy in the beginning and then again near the end. Otherwise it's not that bad. I definitely recommend it to anyone that likes catching and exploring, it's a high point of the series.

ViewtifulJoe posted...
The fact they make you play as a student made me assume this one was for first timers too.
Being free to ride around the world, grabbing up Rare Candies and a shopping list of items seems like fun though. Gyms in any order is nice too.
Not sure what I think of tera. Seems hard to plan for.
Paradox Pokemon are cool though.
They make almost every game beginner focused. A couple of the higher level (fully optional) classes in the school might actually help people that have been playing awhile. Like, if you're ready to start moving from casual to competitive it could actually be useful.

The multiplayer is also fantastic if you've got friends. If you play together with opposite versions, you can catch their version exclusives in your game.

Most 3D gens were 2 steps forward 1 step back.

Gen 6 suffered because it was still designed with the intention of making Z, a third version to improve on the firsts. So the games almost feel "incomplete."

The remakes of R/S were ok. They implemented later pokemon in a really cool way, the story event with the legendaries caused a migration so new pokemon appeared around the map and you could go hunt them. But it didn't bring back stuff from Emerald like previous remakes had.

Gen 7 improved on it a lot. The pokemon roster was better, the characters and story were better, and the region was better. And it kept mega evolution, but it was only in the post game. The big downside was it had the worst rival in the series, but the secondary rival was one of the best. They also got the awful idea to split the "third version" into two games this time around. There was another horrible change, there was no national dex. You could still import older pokemon, but they didn't have dex entries. This was a 100% negative change, because they could still have limited online tournaments and getting the shiny charm to the regional dex anyway.

Gen 7 rounded out with Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee. These were deliberately simplified, and were really well designed and fun for what they were. They added in a couple story beats to tie in with later games, mega evolution and move tutors were available, and the games just looked great. The master trainers and Red were a fantastic challenge. However, these were certainly not a standard pokemon game. If you wanted the next step in the series, this wasn't it. Also, exp share became permanent.

Gen 8 is where the games lost far more than they improved. The region sucked, they lost gimmicks and added a much worse one, and of course dexit happened. They straight up limited the roster, not all pokemon were included. Gamefreak lied and told us this was done to improve models and animations, but both of those things were identical or worse. Nothing of value was gained from this terrible, awful design choice. The DLC improved it a bit, but it's still a low point for the series.

BDSP is weird. It was excessively "faithful" to the originals in bad ways, and brought up to modern standards in bad ways. Took nothing from Platinum, the same sin ORAS made. There was a couple cool new things, like the new underground, but they don't mean much. Ironically, there was a menu storage glitch that made the game infinitely better. If you can somehow find someone with update 1.1.1 to match versions with, it's probably the best Pokemon game on the Switch.

Legends Arceus was finally good. The single player is the best the franchise has ever been. The region is so much fun to explore. We're already used to a limited roster, and this is the game where there was finally some payoff for it: Pokemon have actual behaviors programmed in. The downside is that multiplayer is scrapped.

Scarlet and Violet are a mixed bag. The world, characters, story, pokemon roster, basically everything remotely related to gameplay is dramatically improved from SwSh. Terestalization is a good gimmick. But it's a glitchy mess. It just straight up runs bad because of time constraints. But underneath all of that is a really good game.

It doesn't look like that at all, except according the the falsified, dishonest telling by the police. Which is inaccurate because these particular officers, as well as any in their department that know the truth and are defending them, are evil pieces of shit.

  • I look better
  • My vision is more consistent, with peripheral, no frames or anything in my field of vision, and everything else
  • They don't get dirty and blurry over and over and over. I work in a kitchen so it's especially bad
  • I can freely swim or go out in rain without inconvenience
  • They won't get fogged up if I come out of a fridge, or inside from winter air, or outside from AC, or if I'm sitting over hot food
  • Sunglasses, binoculars, VR headset, goggles, all work a million times better and more conveniently
  • Can fall off or get lost
  • My near vision is spectacular, so if anything glasses are inconvenient. Not a problem with contacts
  • Glasses can be uncomfortable. Often are.

The only downsides of contacts are the slight inconvenience of putting them in, they can be a little irritating by the end of the day if my eyes are getting dry, and I can't rub my eyes (which I probably shouldn't be doing anyway). Oh, I guess I need to bring glasses or a backup pair if I stay somewhere overnight, but I keep both in my car anyway.

For that reason they decided it probably wasn't worth putting her through the stress of it for low odds of success.

Again, nobody said or implied that the unhoused in CA are primarily made up of transplants. But other states do traffic people there. It reduces it in other states and increases it in the big states (CA and NY). I mean, look at that statistic. 10%. 10% of CA's population is more than the total population of a dozen states.

Also, this is counting all unhoused. That includes couch surfers, people that stay with parents two days a week and their uncle three days. If you look at just people living on the street, the percentage of transplants is at least 20% higher. But again, that doesn't matter. Nobody is making the case that California would have low homelessness with only locals. That doesn't diminish how awful trafficking people there is.
