Nope, utilities are separate, and the electricity bill from last June is comparable to this June (after I got the unit).

But if he went cheap and every tenant shares then panels then yes, a circuit could get overloaded

If it isn't the cheapest, it's damn close. I have lots of space and I like it a lot, aside of the temperature issue. I don't want to move out, and we're on good terms aside of this.

Are any of the games in this list super grindy or have overwhelmingly long portions of the game that feel like fluff and drag on?

Cut Xenogears yesterday. Persona 3 should probably be on the chopping block for that too, and Tales of Symphonia would probably be my third choice.

this is kind of a long story but i'll sum it up as best as i can

I've been living in this house for about 2 years at this point, and the HVAC has always sucked. It's too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. My room is particularly bad because I'm both on the top floor and the ducts connected to my room are just smaller for reasons I can't comprehend. Over the past 2 summers, I've been subjected to my room being 80+F all day for a whole week in some cases. It's simply not livable. Last summer, I asked to get a window unit, and he said no because he was afraid of the cost. I resorted to filling large Tupperware containers with water, freezing them, and just putting them into my room until they melted. This year, I told him that I simply wasn't going to deal with it, and he agreed to me getting an AC unit, paid out of my own pocket. The cost has been negligible, so that's not an issue anymore.

Things have been going well since then, but due to how extraordinarily hot this summer has been, I've sometimes been running it even when I'm not home to avoid dealing with the heat when I get home. Today, he told me to stop running it when I'm not home because the other tenants have been asking for permission to get their own AC units. He says he doesn't want them getting units because he's afraid of overloading a circuit and creating a fire hazard, and he doesn't want to give them any grounds to argue that I'm overusing my unit (or something like that i have no fucking idea). As far as I know, the only real fire hazard in a correctly-wired house is if devices are pulling more current than their wires can handle, which shouldn't be an issue for a window unit. Part of his concern is that the house is old, but it's clearly been rewired since it has 3-prong outlets. I don't think he actually wants me to move out, but I feel like it's possible to convince him that the other tenants getting their own window units won't burn the house down.

Any suggestions on what I should do? If he decides to evict me for some reason, do I have any means of retaliation?

Is there a particular aspect of the games that you had in mind?

The overall speed of the games and the extremely scuffed accessibility of some Pokemon (not just Fire-types) are what immediately come to mind, but the gyms also felt extremely undercooked.

The time between RS and DP was about 4 years, which is longer than the average turnaround time for Pokemon, but they're perhaps the most notorious (outside of recent entries) games in the series for being undercooked. The hell happened?

How so?

Almost no game is going to be worth 4 days of your life for a single playthrough. The push for games to be longer and longer is absolutely unsustainable and it comes at the cost of quality.

This was a fucking horrible decision. They literally had a transman explain to them why this would be terrible. It's all just busywork. All of it. You'll be doing the same 10 things in different combinations for a hundred goddamn hours and get absolutely nothing out of it.

I adore the aesthetic and was pretty excited about it (love the creator and follow them closely!) but was pretty disappointed. It's not bad and I'm totally gonna get Frogun 2, but the game can be shockingly clunky and unusually frustrating - some latter levels feel more like RNG whether the game mechanics want to actually work or not (especially that finally race level, good lord.) Some nasty glitches still remain with some of the bosses, especially the final one.

They HAVE addressed a lot of my worst scathing concerns since release so it's not as bad as it was at launch and it's got a lot of soul, so I'm not going to recommend against it, but I would say to temper your expectations if you're in the mood for a PS1 style platformer that almost feels as mechanically frustrating as one.

That's about what I figured. Unfortunate, but I'll still probably play it.

I absolutely adore the aesthetic, but I'm skeptical about the gameplay.
