It will lead to mistakes. Those happen.

But then the question is is any change made, accidentally or purposely for the sake of localization, an automatic failure?

Do these mistakes tarnish the vision of the original author?

Video games, dude. Also anything that comes from Japan or from any non-English-speaking country needs to be localized. And vice versa.

1. JP dubs also suffer from poor acting. You're just not familiar enough with Japanese to pick up bad acting.

I would *like* the idea of streaming as a Vtuber because I have issues about how I look on camera (even though I do it plenty for work), but I also realize that the whole process is actually kind of expensive.

I simply thought the VTuber thing and cartoon avatars were for people that didn't want to appear on camera.

Someone could be a VTuber for a lot of reasons, including physical and mental health issues, including personal safety issues, including thinking that they can have a better brand through their character, including just for fun.

I know multiple streamers that will do livecam one day, vtubing the next. It's not a big deal, really.

Is this one of those things that isn't a thing but because it looks like a thing people treat it as a thing?

But the suggestion is that even fifteen years ago it was pretty obvious that she had influence to exert within the industry.

And that seems pretty relevant to the current discussion.

Was just about to post this with a "Managing Consultants" addendum to let everyone know who McKinsey is, but honestly I don't think there's much one could do to sizzle the concept here in a topic title.

For those of you who don't know, McKinsey is literally one of the biggest and oldest firms still around in the US today. Their role is literally to be paid by companies to tell them how to manage. I honestly didn't know much about them, since despite being part of the corporate world, I'm a safety consultant, and really just at the "science and engineering" level, so I don't get too tangled with management.

But yeah, seems like despite being one of the most prestigious firms in existence, what McKinsey boils down to is a company of BS artists that companies hire to give them "advice" to make layoffs and increase executive pay.

Oh and they also get involved in major conflicts of interest with regards to regulatory groups and corporations (ie. managing both Purdue and the FDA at the same time, particularly around the Oxycontin scandal).

Oh and they've also got ties to foreign governments, such as the Saudi government. The same govt that killed Jamal Khashoggi.

There's an easy explanation in universe for a complete revamp of the timelines though because they fuck with time travel and alternate universes all the time in Trek and comics. Hell DC had Super Boy punch the space time continium to change it's stuff around. Time travel is last thing Star Wars needs.

What's to prevent an entirely new canon being made?

They did it for Star Trek, and countless comic books.

I've felt the argument about "destroying the EU" forgets a few things.

1. Generously, 90% of it was mid-to-garbage.
2. There were no real "unanswered plotlines" that needed resolution (yeah sorry Force Unleashed, but no). All things considered, the old EU could be considered "complete".
3. Expecting a casual fanbase who had not seen a Star Wars film in ten years to suddenly be caught up on dozens of books and video games is way too big of an ask if your intent is to just have the next adventure slot in right after, say, the Fate of the Jedi storyline.

And no, you can't just "make movies that don't reference those old books" because a TON of stuff happened in them that would need explaining, such as:

1. A major supporting character being dead for years.
2. A main character having a kid by a wife who's now dead.
3. Another main character couple having three kids, two of them now dead.
4. The galactic government makeup changing TWICE in the time since the Fall of the Empire.

That's not stuff that can be swept under the rug.

None of Star Wars is real.

Finished Mission 12! Tried to conserve supplies in 11 since I knew you didn't get a follow-up loadout, but then I forgot that 12 just piles supplies upon supplies. I had like five Gas Arrows by the end of it, so you know I had to get the bad guys attention and drop like four at once with a single Gas Arrow.

Except for one of those clues where in other countries his name is WALLY.

I'm trying to figure out what bugged me about this episode.

I think it's the fact that Loki and Mobius really seemed kinda... ancillary? To the plot of the episode?

The plot is about Timely and Renslayer, with Miss Minutes as the weird wild card, and boy was that a weird cul-de-sac.

And like twice or maybe three times Loki and Mobius just show up where the plot is because that's when the script says they show up.

It's weird.
