First thing that comes to mind is The Expanse. I'm told it gets good in season 2, but God damn S1 was such a slog I couldn't get through it.

I paid a private student loan off and doing so dropped my credit score, not that I really care much now but it was high enough to possibly change up my car loan. Not now though.

Again, paying off a loan does not drop your credit score. It still stays on for ten years.

That wouldnt drop your credit score unless your student loan was a line of credit you could pull from.

If it was just a student loan, then paying it off would stay on your credit for ten years and that wouldnt shorten your credit history.

A new loan, however, could have a slight hit on your credit but not too much.
