I'm aware of most all those things listed (and hours of debate could also be had on each individual one, for example, that mutilation bit (and some of them I agree with, like discouraging marriage! :P)). I still view him as more progressive than the hardcore old testament types, simply because of the things he did.

But I mean, yeah, of course, there's a reason I'm not a Christian. I fundamentally disagree with the morality of all this, of course. I don't think his morality is compatible with modern day progressive morality at all, I just view him through the nuanced lens of his current era, and the fundamental belief that he actually thought he was the son of God and all the things that come with that.

You didn't get very far into Matthew did you? It's literally the first book of the New Testament. Come back after you read through Chapter 5.

The sermon on the mount? Sure he makes some call backs to old testament stuff in there, but even then there's still some radical takes on it if you take the times into account, such as the bit about loving your enemies and whatnot. I mean there was a reason he was hated. He went against a lot of stuff that was taught.

I also wanna restate the word "generally". I'm not a fan of all the stuff he went on about but yes, in general he was progressive compared to the times.

Like when the pharisees came at him trying to trick him with asking what he would do if a goat fell in a ditch on the sabbath. He said to go save it and they were like ah hah, but you're not supposed to work. And then Jesus said the life of the goat was greater than the letter of the law. Or something like that. I'm summarizing here.

But yeah in a general sense he was tamer than old testament mentalities, and it's not like I'm the only one who believes that. I mean he went and ate with a prostitute when old testament mentality would say to stone her. C'mon.

The character is fairly good compared to the rest of the Bible. Which parts specifically about him are setting you off? I mean he certainly did have a few moments where he became a drama queen of course, flipping out at the merchants in the temple and cursing a fig tree or whatever, but generally he was against a lot of old testament insanity.

I think everyone is enamored with the wow-factor of a new Beatles song. It's not particularly good I think, not bad or anything but sort of unremarkable in the broader scope of their discography. I don't think anyone will care much about this song in a few weeks to months.

I don't know. I'm not even a big Beatles fan or anything, but I'm kinda loving this song legitimately? I'm actually listening to it multiple times and there are some really nice and emotion-inducing chord progressions.

I feel like it's odd they have yet to make a fusion of story-telling, exploration and 2d Mario.

Imagine this exact gameplay, these levels and everything, but set in an awesome story like Thousand Year Door or something. Something big and expansive where you can really explore and go on side quests and stuff, but then bam, the gameplay is 2d side scrolling Mario.

Thoughts on usefulness of ! block badge? Hard to stick with a badge in this game.

i have no interest in watching this show tbh, it's just not up my alley, but i heard about the acid shower rave scene and i had to look up the clip on YouTube. it was pretty brutal. kinda dumb looking practical effects though, which they mostly tried to hide with the lighting.

The aftermath is brutal too. Not just the immediate aftermath, but the consequences for one certain character through the whole show. Its the kind of scenario nightmares are made of imo.

Wasn't Rayman like, a kids property? On the level of Mario or something?

They're bad but not nearly as bad as giant dogs who bark all the time and make you go deaf because they're so loud.

I played and beat the first one, and I played the second one up to almost the end, but then I DNF.

The concept of these games was exciting at first because they were so different for GoW, but I think ultimately I don't like them. The combat is fun, but everything else is just so sleepy. It starts to feel like work, too, going around these maps and finding every little secret and doing all these puzzles. Just something about it sucks the fun out of gaming to me. It doesn't feel like that nice fun exploration you get in a Zelda game where you're really discovering something, it feels manufactured and video gamey, all while having a super serious and dare I say pretentious tone.

I feel like if it was just a short linear game with a few side distractions here and there I'd probably like it more.

I never know what to wear to not look like a choad when it's super hot and humid out.

Up to episode 4 so far and its amazing.

The end of episode 2 was one of the more horrific things I've seen lately. You know its coming, but damn. Like something from a nightmare.

I remember one scene felt very uncomfortable. I forget the details, but I believe it was Portman changing into a bunch of different outfits and styling for Reno. It was awkward to me. I think there might have been 13 year old nipping? Or at least her in underwear or something.

I really really like her song Vampire whatever the case.

I thought Swift was credited as writer for many of her songs. I mean things like that happen all the time. Pop songs have a lot of different writers. I think like some big old school star has secretly written a shit ton of modern pop songs? But I forget who. Like... Dolly Parton, or someone of that pedigree.

Yep, thats what I'm doing now, sitting on the toilet pooping, after getting out of the shower a few minutes ago. Ah, butt all clean and ready for an evening of relaxing, then bam, poop time. Yep, nothing like it, just a great thing to do that really makes your day better, taking a whole ass shower, then going to poop, just great, great experience.

HEB does it right. There's tons of cashier's for traditional check out, and they all have another employee who bags your groceries too. Then they also have the self checkout lines for an option. All lanes are manned in some way.

It's crazy that articles like this don't take into account customer satisfaction. It's all about metrics like employee numbers, loss prevention, etc. What about customer satisfaction? I can tell you it's a fucking nightmare doing a huge shopping trip at Walmart and then seeing one traditional check out lane open. That's why I quit going there and shop at HEB now. Literally because of that. I guarantee you I'm not the only person. And yet you never see this angle discussed by these businesses.
