Main reason I bought a disk based ps5 is because of the games I already have not because I plan to buy a ton of disk based ps5 games (although I did buy a few). I play pc games on my gaming laptop too and it is far easier for me to be fine with download only because that is the way it has been for a decade+. It would bother me a little but I do think a mostly diskless future is in the cards for consoles too.

And websites wonder why so many people use adblockers. I would not mind getting rid of ad blockers if websites were not overrun with ads.

Had my washer break last week, and had to do research on laundromats only to find that there was like 1 fairly close by but thankfully I got it fixed pretty fast. I feel like they are way less common now because it is something that most people expect to have in their apartment unit or at least have access to in their building these days when they are paying thousands a month anymore. idk if they are found more in very large cities but my town of like 20,000 did not have one and would have had to go to the nearest city, and they only had like 2 or 3.

I will not take either side as it is 2 people richer then hell who will likely pawn their kids off on a staff of nannies and sitters because they will routinely have better things to do then be an actual parent. Only real loser of any of this is the children and that is unfortunate.

I googled and a bunch came up from just this year and last, so I'd say with a lot more frequency than the alternative of "X's life was ruined forever," like certain people in here are trying to argue.

I feel like the biggest issue is that the false accusation is going to be loud and public the "victim" is going to scream it from the rooftops and post it all over social media. Any investigation is going to be downplayed and quiet and same goes for anything that happens to the false accuser. No one will remember that the person was eventually found innocent, only that the accusations were front page news so they had to be true.

I like 4 more, but that is probably some nostalgia. I started playing FF games with 9 and it has always been my favorite. I then worked my way back through the other PS1 games and the re releases of the classics and 4 jumped out as being similar to 9 due to strict classes and very medieval world.

I remember Anthology (the game for ps1 that had 5 and 6) being super hard to find/expensive at the time so it was one that took me awhile to decide to buy, so they were the last of the classics (outside of 3 that I did not play until 3ds or something) that I played. I was always more interested in the Fantasy more than the steampunk like worlds more so 9 and 1 - 5 are ones I gravitated to more, 6 while more medieval than some of the later ones still went a bit to steampunk for me sometimes.

And yet, by law, in many gun loving states, pointing a gun at a thief would make it legal for the thief to then pull a gun on you, citing that they fear for their life.

Even the staunchest stand your ground states would toss out any self defense claim if it took place while you were committing a felony. Not sure were people get the idea that someone in the process of stealing a car is going to be able to defend themselves with a gun if the victim shows up to try to subdue them at gunpoint until the police arrive.

Everyone was so hype about cord cutting and look where we are now. Just like always-on Internet and mass storage for consoles sounding awesome at first before giving to way to microtransactions, obscene update sizes, and abusive DLC that ruined the good aspects.

Just run your own Plex server and you-know-what to add content to it, I say.

You were saving money in the early days cutting the cord because you could probably do with only having Netflix, Hulu or Prime, maybe 2 of the 3 at most, but now every network has there own and it is insane.

We still have cable because my 65 year old father uses it and my mother sometimes as well, but on top of that we have Disney, Hulu, Prime and Paramount+. I do not know the breakdown of the TV portion of the cable bill or the current prices of the streaming service levels we have off the top of my head but it would not surprise me to learn the streaming services come close to costing as much as cable.

China pays a ton of money to have movies have parts take place in China, and they are a huge market when they are finished, or atleast thats how it worked before covid with things like the first Walberg Transformers movie. And if you take money from China I am fairly certain the contracts require you to make them look like the good guy. I remember watching a pretty indepth video on it a few years ago.
TopicWhy are films not doing well in theaters?

I have never been the biggest going to the movies person, with Covid it just made it easier because they decided to just release some without a theater release. Over the years thanks to streaming etc we can also expect movies to show up on streaming services much quicker than in the past when we had to wait 9+ months for them to run through theaters and come out on dvd/blueray or vhs (for us older people)

Big blockbusters still make a ton of money so I do not see theaters going away totally but I do so them maybe become more of a premium experiance similar to like going to see a play, or some sort of sporting event.

Yes I believe in castle doctrine but I understand that some states take it way to far, You should be legally allowed to defend yourself from anything a reasonable person would perceive as a threat period.

Yes I would hope people try to give verbal warning to scare the person of and/or try to assess the situation before taking action but in the real world that may not be something that can be done 100% of the time and I am also aware of that. Shooting someone in the back even after breaking into your house should imo not be something protected by any kind of self Def, or castle doctrine protections.

Anyone trying to get into my home, or that has already gotten into my home with some sort of theoretical good intention like saving me from a fire I would expect to make that very loudly and clearly known well before they have a chance to get themselves shot.

Jesus Christ, how old are you guys? 60? If you're between 25-40 like I assume most of CE is, that's way too young to have so many dead family members.

I am 37, I would say early to mid 30s is about the time a lot of people start losing grandparents depending on how old they were when they had your parents and how old your parents were when they had you.

Lost both sets of grand parents (3 out of 4 were when I was an adult and 2 of them were right before covid and about a year into it)
1 set of Great grandparents that were still alive until I was around 20
1 Great aunt who the family had stopped talking to about 5 years ago
An uncle about a year and a half before Covid, days before Christmas
and recently 2 cousins who were both younger than me, one to suicide and one to cancer.

That is not counting other relatives I never met, because I know both of my grandmother's sisters died not long after her. Also an uncle when he got hit by a car but that was even before my dad was born that we all knew about but never really talked about. My mom is 1 of 7 children so I can imagine there will be some more over the next 10 - 15 years because a few of them or their spouses have health problems that I can see catching up with them.
