I could never get very far into it until years later when i really took the time to learn how things worked. I felt like they were a little too close to the action side. This made it even tougher. I feel like I may be forgetting some games, but here we go: 1. Breath of Fire 3 2. Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door 3. Pokemon Yellow 4. Grandia 2 5. Suikoden 6. Phantasy Star 2 7. Xenosaga 8. Trails in the Sky 9. Lufia 10. Legend of Dragoon There are a lot of notables I havent played that I feel would immediately go into the top 10, Suikoden 2, Earthbound, Phantasy Star 4 ect. For comparison here is my top 10 jrpgs not including any of these restrictions: 1: Chrono Trigger 2. Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Dark Souls 4. Final Fantasy Tactics 5. Final Fantasy IX 6. Final Fantasy VI 7. Chrono Cross 8. Breath of Fire 3 9. Xenogears 10. As for what counts as a jrpg, lets keep it as traditional as possible. That means turn based battles and menu systems.
